About Samford Visitor Information Centre
Welcome to the Samford Visitor Information Centre, located in the heart of Samford Village on Main Street. Our establishment serves as an essential point of interest for travelers seeking information and assistance in exploring Samford and its surrounding areas.
Housed within a charming, purpose-built cottage, our Visitor Information Centre has a rich history. Affectionately known as Daisy Cottage, it was originally located in Strathpine before finding its new home in John Scott Park in 2016. Our centre is operated by a team of dedicated volunteers, who are passionate about showcasing the beauty and attractions of the local township.
When you visit the Samford Visitor Information Centre, you'll find a wealth of resources at your disposal. Our shelves are stocked with information, maps, brochures, visitor guides, and itineraries to help you make the most of your time here. Whether you're interested in exploring the stunning natural landscapes, discovering local attractions, or embarking on exciting adventures, we have all the information you need.
In addition to providing comprehensive tourist information, we also offer FREE Wi-Fi, ensuring that you can stay connected during your visit. Take a moment to relax and gather your thoughts in our cozy cottage setting, surrounded by the tranquil John Scott Park. While you're here, keep an eye out for the native Powerful Owls that call Samford their home.
If you're in the mood for some art and culture, you'll be delighted to know that the Slab Hut Arts and Craft and Samford Museum are also located within John Scott Park. It's the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the local heritage and learn more about the region's history.
After a day of exploring, you can unwind at the nearby Samford Hotel, a favorite pub among locals and tourists alike. Indulge in delicious eats and savor the cold brews served at the hotel's bar. Alternatively, if you're looking for a peaceful retreat amidst nature, Mercure Clear Mountain Lodge is just a 40-minute drive from Brisbane CBD. Nestled in the Moreton Bay Region hinterland, this accommodation offers exquisite dining options and a stellar bar.
For a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere, head to the pet-friendly Long Yard Larder Samford café. Situated opposite John Scott Park, this café has quickly become a popular meeting place in the Moreton Bay Region. Enjoy friendly customer service, warm wood-panelled surrounds, and minimalist vibes while savoring their delectable offerings.
If you happen to visit on a Saturday morning, don't miss the whimsical Samford Valley Markets hosted by St Paul's Anglican Church. With a picturesque mountain range backdrop, the aroma of freshly baked goods, and the charm of the church grounds, it's the perfect outing to start your weekend.
As we welcome you to Samford and the Moreton Bay Region, we would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands and waterways. We pay our respects to the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi, Jinibara, and Turrbal people, as well as their Elders, past, present, and emerging. We recognize and honor the ongoing connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have to this land, acknowledging them as the original custodians.
Come and discover all that Samford and its surrounding areas have to offer at the Samford Visitor Information Centre. Our dedicated team of volunteers is ready to assist you in creating unforgettable experiences during your visit to this beautiful part of Australia.
