Reviews of Lemon Chillies Indian Restaurant
"I went 3 times and tried different food Whatever i are also everything taste is good Definitely every one can enjoy the taste and feel satisfied and worthy"
"Having dined here a couple of times some six years ago, my wife and I lunched here on Thursday 15th June 2023 since we happened to be in the vicinity. The ordering method now is through our smartphone after scanning a QR code displayed on the table. It was somewhat fiddly, but we persevered and managed to place our order after a bit of help from the friendly waiter. Our dishes comprised a Lemon Chillies dosa and a chicken biryani. The biryani was made with short-grain rice (probably kaima or jeerakasala rice) rather than the familiar long-grain basmati rice. The chicken pieces, though tasty, seemed a tad fatty. The biryani was served with lime pickle, raita, pineapple pickle and a rolled-up pappadum. It was topped with an egg and a slice of tomato. Quite an appetising biryani, nevertheless. The stuffing of the Lemon Chillies dosa was somewhat like masala dosa. It was mildly spicy with its own subtle, unique flavour. The accompanying drumstick sambar and sambals and chutneys complemented the dosa very well. The dosa was a delight to our palettes. Overall, it was an enjoyable Keralan lunch. The menu has changed through the years and the restaurant now offers a wider range of South Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes. We must admit that browsing the menu on the smartphone seemed less personal than ordering from a printed menu. We do miss the days when a staff member would jot down our orders while enabling us to enquire more about the dishes on the menu."
"Big portions, and brilliant food. Regretting not getting the buffet, more amazing food options. Went for Mother's day, I think this was the highlight of her day."
"This restaurant has been here for a while and is quite popular with the locals. Dosas are a welcome addition to the menu and they make it really well. Masala chai was too milky and not strong enough. We were told they pre-make a component of it, so chai without sugar is not an option. Not a fan of the ordering through the app, mainly because there is no description. One of the dosas had egg in it, and had we not checked, it would have been a waste of food. Definitely think the app should be updated. If you ask really nicely, the order will be taken in place of the app. I say nicely, because there is only one front house staff member and they are flat out serving food, giving the delivery orders and coordinating with the kitchen. They definitely need two ppl out in the front. All in all, definitely would return and recommend."
"Sensational Malayalee food! Definitely recommend the crab curry, fish in banana leaf, and the beef fry! I don't remember another Indian restaurant outside India that served food this authentic. We're definitely coming back even if it's a 45 minute drive to get here!"
