"Highly Recommended for Pop Corn Cauliflower! Fish & Chips, Beef burger were good too. Friendly staffs serve us our hot drinks. Nice and warm place to have our lunch after chilling train ride."
"Perfect spot to relax and enjoy a nice burger. Amazing views everywhere, ambience is great. Food prices are high over here, but other than that everything is great!"
"Prices are a little high (current inflation), but the food is delicious, the customer service is excellent and efficient & the outdoor area is outstanding for a sunny day. So lets break it down… Atmosphere: **** After passing through the tourist sections, the corridor opens up to a very large open plan hall with many tables, including a very nice outdoor decked area for those perfect sunny days. Excellent for a light lunch and good conversations with friends. The only negative is that occasionally in the outdoor area, you are almost blasted by a recording saying “welcome to the visitor centre…etc” which is fairly loud and disrupting when you are conversing and eating. Customer Service: ***** All the tables are numbered and be sure to pick your table before ordering, they will ask you for a table number. It was nice that a representative checked with us, as we were standing in line. It was getting close to lunch (11:45am) and every representative seem extremely busy and working hard to ensure every order was fulfilled – we lined up and the order was taken swifty and professionally. We returned to our table and over the next 8 minutes all three items were delivered to us – the speed was excellent as well as the representatives who seems happy and enthusiastic of their work. Well Done! Food (Why we are here): **** Order: Hawaiian Pizza, Chicken Schnitzel Roll with tomato and cheese & Beef Burger (with Bacon) Hawaiian Pizza - Very nice, good toppings, cooked nicely but little too doughy and little too cheesy (if you like that) Chicken Schnitzel Roll – Excellent! Nice thick piece of chicken, toasted well and very tasty Beef Burger (with Bacon): Excellent! The burger patty was about 1.5cm thick cooked Medium (beautifully cooked). The added bacon is worth it with the chipotle sauce, plus the fresh bread and salad was delicious. The chips were a little over salted and about average. Overall: **** It’s certainly clean and modern with a very eclectic group of peoples enjoying the Puffing Billy experience and the great short nature walks around Emerald Lake. Whilst the prices are a little overpriced considering inflation at the moment and the lines can get long at lunch time with tour groups – You will not be disappointed with your order. Thank You Railway Café."
"I'm not going to lie. It was pretty jarring to go from a historical train to this new building which is beautifully designed. The food was pretty good as well. We got peppered steak, a sausage roll, chippies and a lamington which were all pretty good. While you wait for the return ride back to the Puffing Billy station you can walk around the park right outside and enjoy some outdoors time. One note: During our visit, there was a family who brought up to the front desk that the entrance was DDA compliant and unfortunately the person in the walker was not able to go all the way to the cafe and opted to stay outside. I hope this was rectified."
