About the Business
Welcome to Ciao Bella Pizzeria and Wine Bar, located in the heart of Balnarring on Frankston - Flinders Road. As a bar, establishment, food point of interest, and restaurant, we are dedicated to showcasing the authentic cooking traditions of Italy.
At Ciao Bella, we take pride in using only the finest ingredients and freshly prepared hand-pressed dough to create our mouthwatering Italian dishes and pizzas. We believe in supporting local producers, which is why we incorporate superior products such as Leontyna Extra Virgin Olive Oil and locally produced Buffalo Mozzarella into our menu. By using the best quality cured meats and cheeses, we are able to offer a truly artisan culinary experience.
Our pizza menu is a highlight, featuring classic options as well as special creations inspired by the seasonal harvest from our garden and local farms. Indulge in unique combinations like heirloom tomato and fresh ricotta, local fig with gorgonzola and prosciutto, or organic asparagus with taleggio cheese. In addition to our pizzas, our kitchen serves up authentic Italian specialties including Olive Ascolane, Arancini, Gnocchi, and Spaghetti Carbonara, along with daily specials.
Ciao Bella has a special story behind its establishment. Years ago, Claudio and Marisa stumbled upon a beautiful old house for sale while on vacation in Balnarring. They instantly fell in love with it and turned it into their dream restaurant. Today, Ciao Bella remains a popular family-run establishment, offering casual and relaxed dining in a warm, cozy, and vibrant atmosphere.
Our cuisine is inspired by our heritage and our garden. We design our menu around the produce harvested from our own garden and source products from local suppliers around the Peninsula. Our woodfire thin crust Italian pizzas are our award-winning specialty, but we also offer daily specials of antipasti, homemade pasta, fresh seafood, salads, and delectable homemade desserts. Complement your meal with a selection from our extensive wine list, featuring choices from both the Peninsula and Italian vineyards.
To enhance your dining experience, we have recently added a new outdoor dining area, allowing you to enjoy our beautiful garden while indulging in our delicious offerings.
We highly recommend making a booking at Ciao Bella, as we tend to fill up quickly. On Wednesday nights, you are welcome to bring your own wine. For larger groups of 10 people or more, we offer set menus starting at $60 per person, featuring Italian Rustic Antipasto and Woodfire Pizzas to share, or $65 per person, including Italian Antipasto, Woodfired Pizzas, and Salads to share.
Join us for lunch or dinner on Saturdays from 12pm to 3pm and 5pm to 9pm, as well as on Sundays from 12pm to 3pm and 5pm to 9pm. We look forward to welcoming you to Ciao Bella soon. Don't forget to click here to make a booking!

"Got two takeaway pizzas tonight: margarita and vegetarian. They were ready super quick (in less than 15mins) and were really good. Great bases, margarita had something delicious going on, and the vegetarian was a nice different take. Our toddler loved them too. $47 for both. Would recommend for sure."
"Wow, what a disappointing evening. Having accidentally knocked over an empty wine glass whilst pouring wine for others (yes our fault), we were concerned that shards of glass may well have gone into a small entree side salad opposite. We asked the waitress if it might be possible to get another small salad rather than potentially ingest glass & we were advised that no it wasn't possible & that we had been the ones to break the glass! Gee thanks for the concern! Then having ordered 2 entree servings of Calamari as well as 2 main course servings of Calamari we were surprised to find 4 serves gradually arrived all of the same size that we assumed were just entrees, as they weren't that large. No, they had mistakenly served 4 main serves but wouldn't charge us the extra. $35 per entree & $42.50 for a main?? - these prices weren't apparent from the menu as they weren't listed - only MP. To top it all off for our temerity in asking & being surprised at the answers to the above we were treated very poorly by our original waitress who practically threw the bill onto our table at the end. On complaining to the manager at her rudeness through much of our dinner he of course wouldn't hear of it. We won't be back but wish others a better experience than we received"
"Cant not book online. Have to call the restaurant for booking. We are hoping to go in around 7pm but apparently that timeframe is unavailable. So we booked for 6:30pm. While we are dining, the restaurant doesn’t to be busy at all during 7-8pm there are still plenty of empty table. Really not sure why we cant come in at 7pm. Service is ok. Food are yum but not as what we expected. As we had been to so many wood fire pizza restaurants and they are much better dough and taste. However, considering the surrounding options. This would only be the good pizza around this area. Pasta was delicious, great Italian wins and cocktails."
"I recently visited an Italian pizza place with my friends and family after a day on the beach and it was an unforgettable experience. The pizza was absolutely delicious, with a perfect crust and fresh ingredients. The red wine was also a standout, complementing the pizza perfectly. We also had some pasta dishes - carbonara- that were cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience and I highly recommend this Italian pizza place to anyone looking for a delicious meal and a great atmosphere after a great sunny day. Before driving back to the cbd it is a good stop"
"Very happy, service was great. Asked for a recommendation with wine and they let me try as they had a bottle open which was very kind and they didn't push me to the most expensive bottle. Very knowledgeable on the Italian wines and local olive oil. Food was delish. Calamari to start was cooked perfectly and dressed with a fresh yummy side salad. For main we had a spaghetti carbonara which was tasty and not too creamy and spaghetti marinara, the seafood tasted fresh and full of flavour. Meals were generous. To finish we had lemon gelato served in a lemon and it was a nice refreshing was to finish the meal. We will be back"
