Reviews of Allister McAllister
"I love this place. With its range of eclectic items, mainly from the 1970's and 1980's, it's nostalgia overload, with its vinyl records (albums and singles), posters, magazines, VHS tapes and collectible toys. Everything you see is for sale and today I brought an old letter/bills/misc holder. Husband and I had coffees (soy latte and flat white) while I also had a multigrain cheese and tomato toasted sandwich. So pop in, you will never know what you will find, I will always keep visiting. Actually they had a couple of matchbooks on counter and I remember when everyone used to collect them, how funny. I also love the music they play, today a 1981 compilation, so good."
"Tiny charming atmosphere, delicious muffins, unpretentious coffee smooth as silk. If I had room in my luggage I would surely find a clever gift here to take home, too!"
"Such awesome retro nostalgia vibes from the second you set foot into the cafe! And all the items on display are for sale too, how cool is that?! Anyways, stopped in on my way to my client I just googled the nearest cafe as I sat and waited in traffic and this was the closest to me. The guy that served me was very friendly and welcoming. I got the cheese and mushroom toastie and a chai leaf tea which was absolutely delicious!! You even get a complimentary ginger biscuit on top of coffee cup which I thought was a sweet gesture and definitely put a smile on my face as I wasn’t expecting that. If you’re ever walking by or past towards the beach, pop in a and grab a coffee!"
"Had chai latte on Monday morning. I was looking at how the man made the chai - it was made with a lot of care and I could tell it from the taste. The place was cozy (though there aren’t many seats available, the interior was nice - takes you back to 80s or so) and the staff was very kind. I was visiting Melbourne for a week, exploring the area, and trying different cafes, but this place was memorable. I had it take away as it was just a minute away from the beach and enjoyed it alongside the beach. Perfect to be a little bit away from the touristy area and enjoy relaxing time."
