About the Business
Welcome to Ringwood East Maternal & Child Health Centre, located at 28-30 Freeman Street in Ringwood East, Australia. Our establishment is a health point of interest that is part of the Maroondah Maternal and Child Health Service, providing free support and information to families in caring for their children.
At our centre, we offer a range of services and supports to families in between their scheduled Maternal and Child Health (MCH) appointments. We encourage families to access these supports, which include:
- For more information about our services and how to access them, please speak to your nurse or call the MCH appointment line on 9294 5777.
- To book an appointment at one of our centres, please call 9294 5777. If you reach our answering machine, kindly leave a message and your call will be returned. Calls received after 2pm may be returned on the following business day.
During your appointments, our dedicated MCH nurses will review your child's health, growth, and development. They will also discuss your own health and provide support as you navigate the journey of being a parent to a new baby.
It is important to note that your child will require regular appointments with our Maternal and Child Health Nurse until they reach 3.5 years of age. To schedule these appointments, please call 9294 5777 when your child reaches each age milestone.
Our developmental checks for children up to six years old align with the Victorian Government Maternal & Child Health Framework, ensuring comprehensive care for your child's well-being.
In addition to our MCH services, Maroondah City Council offers various services and information sessions designed to support the health and address the concerns of new parents. These sessions are regularly held and are free for Maroondah residents with young children.
Our nurses are highly qualified, with backgrounds in general nursing and midwifery, as well as specialized training in Maternal and Child Health. They constantly update their knowledge and skills to provide you with the best care possible. Throughout the early years of your child's life, you will visit a maternal and child health nurse at 10 key ages and stages, ensuring that you receive guidance on topics such as breastfeeding, sleep and settling, growth and development, and self-care as a parent.
To practice in Victoria, our maternal and child health nurses are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA), ensuring their professionalism and adherence to high standards of care.
At Ringwood East Maternal & Child Health Centre, we strive to stay connected with our community. We encourage you to stay updated with everything happening at Council and around our community.
Lastly, in the spirit of Reconciliation, we acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land now known as the City of Maroondah. We respect their deep spiritual connection to the land and their ongoing care for Country. We pay our respects to their Elders, both past and present.
For any further information or inquiries, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to supporting you and your family on this incredible journey of parenthood.
