Campbellfield Maternal and Child Health Centre
About the Business
Welcome to the Campbellfield Maternal and Child Health Centre, located at 28 Waratah Street in Campbellfield, Australia. As an establishment that focuses on health and is considered a point of interest in the area, we are dedicated to providing a range of free maternal and child health (MCH) services to our community.
At our center, we understand the importance of the early development of your child and strive to ensure that your baby gets the best start in life. That's why our team of Maternal and Child Health nurses, midwives, and parent educators are specialists in child health and development. We are here to support you every step of the way.
While we are currently transitioning back to normal operations after the temporary prioritization of services in metropolitan Melbourne due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our healthcare workforce continues to face challenges. This may result in some MCH services not being able to deliver the full range of services and consultations at times. However, we will always prioritize care during these periods and provide alternative supports whenever possible.
When you are discharged from the hospital, a member of our Maternal and Child Health team will personally call you to arrange a visit to your home. During this visit, we will schedule times for you to visit one of our Maternal and Child Health Centres at specific stages in your baby's development. Please note that appointments outside these assessment ages are generally not necessary unless there is a particular need or developmental concern.
Our experienced team of Maternal & Child Health Nurses, Lactation Consultants, and Parent Support Workers are here to support your breastfeeding journey by offering information on all aspects of infant nutrition and parenting. We also offer breastfeeding support services at various locations and times across Hume.
In addition to our regular services, we also offer the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health service, which is an extension of the Universal Maternal and Child Health service. This service is provided to selected families who would benefit from targeted support. Referral to this service can be made through your Maternal and Child Health Nurse.
Our Outreach Team is available to provide Maternal & Child Health support and advice in various settings. We also offer programs such as the Babies in Hume Program, a free and interactive support and education program for all Hume residents. Our first-time parents program provides help with communicating with your baby, sleep needs, nutrition, and much more. We offer both online and face-to-face information sessions.
For our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, we have a dedicated Engagement Team that delivers culturally appropriate early years information from birth to school age. Our team aims to support families with health and well-being and help them connect to the community.
We also offer a flexible and culturally appropriate service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families across the Hume municipality. Our MCH nurses focus on key ages and stages of children from 0-4 years and provide center appointments for your convenience.
If you have any questions or need immediate assistance, you can reach our Maternal and Child Health Line at 13 22 29. This 24-hour telephone service is staffed by qualified maternal and child health nurses.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge and recognize the rich Aboriginal heritage within the Hume municipality. We pay our respects to the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung, the Traditional Custodians of this land. We embrace Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander living cultures as a vital part of Australia's identity and celebrate the contributions of Elders past, present, and future.
Thank you for choosing the Campbellfield Maternal and Child Health Centre. We look forward to supporting you and your family on this incredible journey of parenthood.
