St Aloysius College
About the Business
Welcome to St Aloysius College, one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in Melbourne. Established in 1887 and located in the vibrant suburb of North Melbourne, our institution has a rich history of providing high-quality education to students.
In 2023, we are excited to embrace co-education, becoming the first Catholic co-education secondary school in the City of Melbourne. This progressive step reflects our commitment to creating an inclusive and diverse learning environment for all students.
Our College offers a range of excellent facilities, including a City Campus in North Melbourne, an impressive gymnasium, and a beautiful camps facility in Torquay. These resources provide our students with the support they need to explore their passions and discover their brilliance.
While academic excellence is important to us, we also believe in the value of a well-rounded education. Our co-curricular program offers a wide variety of activities that allow students to develop their skills and interests outside of the classroom.
At St Aloysius College, we have designed our academic programs to foster a lifelong love of learning and discovery. Our curriculum blends the best of traditional education with an innovative, enquiry-based approach that encourages students to make connections and develop essential literacy skills.
We prioritize the wellbeing of our students, and it is woven into every aspect of our curriculum. Our small school community fosters strong relationships between students and staff, promoting mutual respect and trust. Mindfulness practices are integrated into daily routines to support the mental and emotional wellbeing of our students.
We are proud of the achievements of our Class of 2022, who have shown exceptional resilience and commitment despite the challenges they faced in their final years of secondary schooling. Their remarkable VCE/VCAL results are a testament to their hard work and dedication.
As an institution, we acknowledge and respect the traditional custodians of the land on which our campuses are located, the Wurundjeri and Wadawurrung peoples. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present, and future and strive to create a community that celebrates diversity and inclusivity.
If you are looking for a school that combines academic excellence, a supportive community, and a commitment to holistic education, St Aloysius College is the perfect choice. Join us on this exciting journey as we shape the future of education in Melbourne.

"If I could give 0 stars, I would No doubt if I used my real name id get in trouble from teachers for being honest and making the school look bad because that's all they care about Rather than asking how they can help/improve. If only they put more effort in for actually caring as they did regulating our school uniforms/appearances And screw all these accounts who haven't even actually attended, lying about how good this school is. Do you actually think having a coordinated and planned out tour of the school is representative of the experience here?"
"My oldest grand daughter attends St Aloysius with her younger sister ready to start next year. The school has so much to offer the girls, it is nurturing, inclusive and works hard at getting the girls to be the best person they can be. Great programs, terrific Principal and teachers. If you are looking for a school for your daughters book a tour, you will not be disappointed."
"As a parent of a year 7 student, my experience with St Aloysius has already been a very positive one. From the onset, my daughter felt part of the school community after a great transition program. She has been offered extensive opportunities to grow and learn as a young adult. The staff have been welcoming and readily available to discuss any questions or concerns I’ve had and take an interest in the wellbeing of their students. As a former student, I’m hoping my daughter’s experience at the school is as great as mine was."
"Graduated in 2017 and can happily say that St Al's gave me the best possible footing for the big wide world. Not ashamed to say that I miss it, the people and the sense of belonging. The staff and students are beautiful people who are devoted to their work and facilitate personal growth and building confidence. It is wonderful to visit the school now and again to show support for a community that supported me. I have a lot to thank the school for, too many to count, they will always be close to my heart. Remember, once a St Al's girl, always a St Al's girl."
"My daughter has been attending St Aloysius college for nearly 3 years. In that time, she has made a beautiful group of friends and enjoys going to school. I'm pretty sure there have been incidents at the school just like there are at every school. It's difficult to find a school to suit every individual, but I know St Aloysius college offers my daughter great opportunities to grow and learn"
