Red Sand Garden
About the Business
Welcome to Red Sand Garden, located in the City of Casey, Cranbourne, Victoria. As an establishment, park, point of interest, and tourist attraction, Red Sand Garden offers a unique and captivating experience for visitors.
Situated near the eastern entrance to Cranbourne Gardens, Red Sand Garden is easily accessible despite the ongoing roadworks. The road between Cranbourne Gardens and South Gippsland Highway, Ballarto Road east, may be under construction, but rest assured that detours are in place to guide you to our entrance. You can also enter through Ballarto Road west, which is conveniently located at the intersection including Pearcedale Road and Frankston-Cranbourne Road.
Red Sand Garden is part of the renowned Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, where you can immerse yourself in a natural bushland experience. Alongside the Australian Garden, which has received numerous accolades, our institution showcases the breathtaking beauty and diversity of Australian landscapes and flora. With over 100,000 plants from 1,900 different varieties, the Australian Garden is a true testament to the richness of our country's botanical heritage.
The bushland surrounding Red Sand Garden boasts an impressive collection of over 450 indigenous plant species. It is home to more than 10 kilometers of walking tracks and six kilometers of cycling tracks, allowing visitors to explore and appreciate the stunning surroundings. You can also climb the lookout tower for a panoramic view, relax in picturesque shelters, have a barbecue, or let your children enjoy the playgrounds scattered throughout the area.
Preserving the natural environment is of utmost importance to us. The bushland at Red Sand Garden is a precious remnant of the vegetation that once covered the broader region. We actively manage the area to control the growth of non-indigenous plants and exotic weeds, ensuring the preservation of this unique ecosystem.
While we welcome visitors from all walks of life, please note that for the safety of both your beloved pets and the native wildlife, we kindly request that no domesticated animals be brought into Cranbourne Gardens, unless they are registered assistance animals.
To make the most of your visit, please be aware that the last entry is at 4.30pm, and the Gardens close at 5.00pm daily. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of the land on which Red Sand Garden is situated. We recognize and honor the contributions of their Elders, both past and present.
