"I have been going to Rusty's classes from the beginning, when he took over from the legendary Pat Noakes. Just like Pat he makes everyone feel welcome and valued, whether beginner or advanced, and is always willing to take time out to help you if you're struggling with a move or concept. Just to make sure we don't get stale Rusty has taught many different styles over the years - 6 beat Swing, 8 beat Swing, Lindy, Balboa, Slow Swing, Slow Bal, Charelston and Solo Jazz Steps. That might sound a lot, but the classes are usually structured to include say, three styles into one mini-routine. On top of that he manages to teach one or two Christmas/End-of-Year routines each year, which are then performed at the end-of-year party and for other dance venues. These are choreographed to allow participation from beginners through to advanced. I would definitely include Rusty's Swing classes with the must-do/top classes in Melbourne. Cheers,"

"Rusty plays the best music in class that makes learning so easy. I have made many friendships and hand many laughs with my fellow classmates. We learn a variety of moves from Lindy to Charlestons and everything in between. I really enjoy learning the line dances like the Shim Sham, Sings Progressive, and Singing in the Rain - just to name a few. I am always learning something new and can't recommend Rusty's classes enough. Although I would give him a rating of 6/5 if there was a free beer with every class. HAHAHA"

"Even as an experienced swing dancer, I still learn so much in Rusty's classes. He makes sure that everyone has a good time while learning - from beginners to advanced dancers. I especially love how he encourages us to put some "ham" into our dancing (ie. put your own personality into the moves to make it fun which then leads to lots of laughing!) It doesn't matter if you have previously done a different style of dancing or have never danced before, Rusty knows how to teach swing to all levels. I just love the creative freedom of swing dancing and Rusty is one of the best teachers I have had. Come along and join us!"
