Williamstown Open Water Swim Coaching

Welcome to Williamstown Open Water Swim Coaching, located on the picturesque Esplanade in Williamstown, Australia. Our institution is a unique establishment that offers a range of services for individuals interested in open water swimming.

One of our most popular offerings is the "Swim Around the Yellow Poles" group, which takes place every Saturday at 9am. This group provides a great opportunity for social swimming, allowing you to choose the number of laps and set your own pace. Since 2015, this group has been a favorite among swimmers, offering a supportive and friendly environment. Plus, for your safety, we have a First Aider on a rescue board. The cost for this group is $20, or just $10 for club members.

If you prefer a more personalized approach, we also offer private 1-1 or 2-1 lessons on Thursdays and Saturdays. These lessons, priced at $77, provide individualized attention and guidance to help you improve your open water swimming skills.

Additionally, we have a Pool Training Squad for Everyone at VU Aquatic, available on Tuesdays at 6am and Tuesday/Thursday at 7.30pm. For just $17, inclusive of pool entry, you can join this squad and enhance your swimming abilities.

We want to assure you that your safety is our top priority. We carefully consider EPA guidance, weather forecasts, and reports when scheduling groups, events, and lessons. Rest assured, you are in good hands with our experienced and accredited coach, Jason, who has a background as a former lifesaver and is insured by Swimming Australia, AUSTSWIM, and ASCTA.

While wetsuits are not required, we do offer old wetsuits for hire and new wetsuits for sale at affordable prices. Whether you choose to wear a wetsuit or not, you can still enjoy the benefits of winter swimming, which is known to be great for your health and fitness.

Our classes take place at Williamstown Beach, specifically at the western end near the carpark behind the Williamstown SLSC. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to ensure a smooth start to your swimming session.

Open water swimming provides a unique challenge compared to pool swimming. The waves, choppy water, and currents can be intimidating, but with our guidance and support, you'll learn to navigate these elements with confidence.
