Welcome to Dr Sharmini Mendis, a trusted and experienced doctor located in Dural, Australia. Dr Mendis has been serving the community for nearly 25 years, providing high-quality healthcare to patients of all ages.

After graduating from the University of Adelaide, Dr Mendis completed her internship and residency years at renowned hospitals such as Westmead, Blacktown Nepean, and Fairfield. She then went on to specialize in family medicine and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Mendis is passionate about delivering comprehensive healthcare and takes a holistic approach to medicine. Her areas of expertise include family medicine, women's health, pediatrics, mental health, and weight management. She believes in empowering her patients to make positive lifestyle changes that can greatly impact their overall wellbeing.

At Dr Sharmini Mendis, we understand the importance of accessibility and convenience when it comes to healthcare. That's why we offer same-day and emergency walk-in appointments to accommodate urgent medical needs. However, please note that starting from January 1st, 2023, all patients booking appointments with Dr Mendis will incur an out-of-pocket fee.

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are now offering booster COVID-19 vaccines to individuals aged 16 years and older. We also provide Pfizer COVID Kids Vaccines for children aged 5-11, with dose 1 appointments available on Thursday afternoons. Dose 2 will be automatically booked for 8 weeks after your initial appointment.

To streamline the appointment process and avoid long wait times on the phone, we encourage patients to book or alter appointments online through our website or the AMSConnect app. We appreciate your patience as we handle a high call volume on a daily basis.

We are thrilled to announce the addition of two esteemed doctors to the DFMP team: Dr Udara Gunawardane and Dr Kalpana Loganath. Dr Udara is a local graduate from UNSW and specializes in pediatrics, complex chronic disease management, men's health, procedures, and family medicine. Dr Kalpana trained at the University of Auckland and has a special interest in holistic and preventative medicine, skin cancer detection and treatment, and chronic diseases.

For the convenience of our patients, Dr Udara and Dr Kalpana will bulk-bill all Pension & Concession Card Holders, as well as children under the age of 12.
