At the International Specialised Skills Institute, our main goal is to encourage investment in specialised trades in order to address the skills shortage in Australia. We work closely with a diverse range of professionals including artists, designers, technicians, educators, care workers, teachers, and innovators to ensure that specialised lines of work continue to flourish in our country.

We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the prestigious 2023 Sir James Gobbo Legacy Fellowship, which is proudly sponsored by the Italian Australian Foundation. If you have Italian descent, you are eligible to apply for this fellowship and receive a $10,000 international applied research grant that promotes traditional Italian art and culture.

Our fellowships provide talented individuals with the opportunity to travel overseas and learn more about their specialised trade. By creating new connections, providing education and training, and addressing the skills gap in Australia, these fellowships play a crucial role in shaping the future of various industries.

Once our fellows return to Australia, they assume the role of influencers, innovators, and change-makers within their respective industries. This often leads to the growth of their businesses and practices, ultimately resulting in the creation of more job opportunities in their sectors.

We take great pride in publishing each fellow's report, which is available for download. These reports serve as valuable tools to inform industries about the international context of best practices, ensuring that our knowledge and expertise are shared and utilized effectively.
