The backstage area offers a spacious green room, an orchestra room, and a workshop space, ensuring that all performers have the resources they need to thrive.

In addition, three comfortable dressing rooms are available to accommodate a variety of performers. The adjacent Reading Room serves as a versatile space, functioning as a foyer or an after-performance area. With its large windows allowing natural light to flood in, the Reading Room exudes warmth and heritage charm, making it an ideal choice for meetings, seminars, workshops, training sessions, classes, cocktail functions, and exhibitions. This space can comfortably seat up to 50 people.

Equipped with a full lighting rig, state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, a cyclorama, and a top-notch PA system, the Williamstown Mechanics Institute is a fully equipped theatre that promises a truly immersive experience for both performers and audience members. Our venue can accommodate up to 182 individuals in a slightly raised seating bank, ensuring that everyone has a clear view of the stage.
