About the Business
Welcome to Lilydale High School, a prestigious secondary school located on Melba Avenue in Lilydale, Australia. With a rich history spanning over 100 years, our institution has been dedicated to providing excellent educational programs for students in Years 7 to 12. We are highly regarded in the community and have built a strong reputation for academic excellence.
One of the unique features of Lilydale High School is our Select Entry Accelerated Learning Program, which has been in operation since 1994. Entry to this program is through a rigorous selection process, and it offers students the opportunity to engage in advanced and challenging coursework.
In addition to our academic offerings, we are proud to have the largest collection of animals among all the schools in Australia. Our students have the privilege of learning about and handling a variety of reptiles, providing them with a hands-on experience that fosters a deep appreciation for wildlife. This program also allows students to pursue their passion for animals and potentially pursue careers as zookeepers.
We also offer a unique sports program that combines rigorous academic studies with intensive training in basketball, netball, and AFL. This program provides our students with the opportunity to excel both academically and athletically, helping them develop important skills such as teamwork, discipline, and resilience.
At Lilydale High School, we understand the importance of family involvement in a student's education. We warmly welcome prospective families to visit and tour our school, providing them with the opportunity to see our facilities and meet our dedicated staff. Our tours commence at 9.00 am and offer a comprehensive overview of the educational opportunities available at our institution.
As the Principal of Lilydale High School, I am committed to ensuring that our website provides timely and accessible information to all our stakeholders. Whether you are a current student, parent, or member of the community, I hope that you find this website informative and helpful. I am always available to meet with parents and carers to discuss any issues, no matter how big or small.
We also invite you to join us for various upcoming events, such as the Shrine of Remembrance Ceremony, where students like Zac proudly wear their ancestors' medals, and the Performing Arts Theatre showcase. We also have a special event at Leonda By The Yarra in December, where you can book tickets to enjoy a memorable evening.
Thank you for visiting the Lilydale High School website, and we look forward to welcoming you into our vibrant and inclusive community.

"i was there for like 4 weeks and got harrased everyday by multiple people, most of the teachers i had were ok tho and my brother enjoys it"
"Yo i love dis place, me and mc hammer in da day grew up and studied here, back in my day yo we had no ATAR, but i aced all the classess and average A+ on all da exams, students need to work harder and collaborate and listen, ; and they need 2 stop listening to that funky music that they play nowadays, stop using da mobile burners , and focus on the books. get it how you live it, i love this school and the teachers are amazing. ill admit i had a small crush on my maths teacher yo , she made me harder than trigonometry. god bless LHS "
"Fairly disappointed by the experience so far, teachers are very controlling and stuck in their ways. Overall, very poor job by the principal and coordination team as a whole, targeting the wrong things such as students wearing black socks instead of white socks, or long sleeves under shirts on cold days, while drugs (especially vapes) are still being sold many times, everyday."
"Quite a large enough high school from walking around it. Has decent facilities and security surveillance technology. Nice natural scenery around it and close to the train station (walking distance). Not a bad high school from the looks of it."
"I think it seems like a decent high school but so far my three kids that have been there have hated it. They’re strict on uniform -I don’t think that’s a bad thing but according to my teens it is."
