Welcome to Dance Lab, located at 36 Guelph Street, Somerville, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, our mission is to ignite the passion that every dancer carries within them - the DREAM. At Dance Lab, we dare our students to try, providing them with the opportunity to explore their skills and talent, and pave their own way in the dance industry.

Our dance classes serve as the front-line for dancers to discover the endless possibilities within the industry. We offer an excellent environment for dancers of all ages to truly develop their skills. In fact, our Dance Class not only focuses on technique and confidence-building but also ensures that dancers maximize their enjoyment of dance.

Under the guidance of fully qualified professional instructors, our students have the chance to pursue their love for various dance styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Acrobatics, Pilates/Stretch, and Pre School Dance. We take pride in the results that both our teachers and students have achieved, thanks to our dedicated team and their commitment to excellence.

At Dance Lab, we provide a positive and safe learning environment that promotes fun, fitness, and confidence. We believe in the importance of examinations, and annually invite school-age students to participate in Cecchetti Classical ballet exams, as well as Tap and Jazz exams under the Southern Federation Of Dance syllabus. For those seeking more personalized training, we offer one-on-one sessions for competition-level students and exam extension students. Contact us to inquire about our private dance classes.

Our alumni have gone on to succeed in the professional dance industry, gaining acceptance into full-time programs at prestigious institutions such as Patrick’s School of the Arts, Ministry of Dance, Victorian College of the Arts, Australian Ballet School, and Queensland Ballet School. Many of our graduates have secured professional contracts with cruise liners, Disney, and local performing companies.

We are proud to utilize the DanceStep program at our studio, which allows students to complete theory lessons through an online course and participate in practical lessons to reinforce their learning. The Cecchetti Classical Ballet technique is of utmost importance in our dance development process, and our jazz program is a dynamic fusion of cabaret, musicals, film, video clips, and ballet.

Hip-hop, a dance style deeply rooted in street and pop culture, is a prominent part of our curriculum. Tap is back and cooler than ever, with the emergence of a new style called "street tap," taking it to a whole new level under the influence of Australia's own Dein Perry. Contemporary dance, on the other hand, pushes the boundaries of movement, requiring dancers to excel in alignment, balance, coordination, control, flexibility, strength, and stamina. Lastly, our acrobatics program showcases extraordinary feats of balance, agility, tricks, and motor coordination, enhancing the wonder and freedom of movement.
