Welcome to Wayi School (Mount Ridley special school), located in Craigieburn, Australia. As a newly established specialist school in the City of Hume, we are proud to offer exceptional education to the growing local population. Our doors opened in 2023, providing students with a convenient and high-quality learning experience right in their own community.

Formerly known as Mount Ridley Special School during the planning phase, we engaged with the community to choose our official name. From 20 June 2022 to 8 July 2022, we gathered input and feedback to ensure that our name reflected the values and heritage of our community. Wayi, pronounced wah-yee, is a Woi-wurrung word from the language of the Wurundjeri people, meaning 'us'. This name represents our commitment to unity and inclusivity, as we embrace diversity and celebrate the strength of our community.

At Wayi School, we are dedicated to providing a world-class education to our students. As part of the 2021-22 State Budget, we were fortunate to receive a share of the $491.565 million allocated for new school construction. This funding allows us to create state-of-the-art facilities and resources, ensuring that our students have access to the best possible learning environment.
