"Facilities: 6.5/10. Teaching: 7.5/10. Student Behaviour Management: 4/10. Although facilities have improved due to a dire need of a renovation, rival schools like Wyndham Central and Manor Lakes have better facilities. We may have the front half of the school rebuilt; many parts of our school have some of the worst buildings while the school tries to only maintain its exterior. Many of the portables aren't even soundproof with some classes literally echoing, while they just age and require a new building. My recommendation for the facilities is to either sell the portables or demolish them and replace them with a 2nd Maths, English, and science buildings, with a separate building for Business subjects where the school could offer more VETs. I’d also love the food tech rooms to be rebuilt and shifted to another location, with some of the newer existing buildings to be renovated such as new Maths and Humanities building to remove the wooden benches which a teacher told me was pointless to have the benches. Other reviews I agree with pointed out that teachers didn’t have the passion to teach, this happened before the pandemic which was one reason for the school to drop its median study scores from the low 30s to the high 20s. Now current teachers seem to have a lot of burnout and cannot seem to enforce school rules for many factors from having too many rules to enforce to a global pandemic which is understandable, but too many teachers have burnout, also contributing to the lowering of study scores with rival schools improving. Not enough good teachers are being recognised adequately, which the only recognition that teachers get is from Google reviews. I can now recognise the best teachers I’ve had in my school years. • Mr Xiberras • Mr Avery • Mr Lu • Mr Bortolot • Mr Parashis • Mr Kwok • Ms Frankish • Ms Aydın • Ms Shearer (CRT) • Mrs Barlow Note there are other good teachers I known or heard about from other people such as Ms Fennelly (although I had her for orientation before). If you think I thought the teaching was terrible, you’re wrong and owe the school an apology. The school teaching quality is generally better with an average student’s behaviour being better than other schools. Coming back to earlier in the review where past teachers didn’t have a passion to teach, Ms Mullins our current principal hires the best of the best teachers looking for a job, which teachers try their best to be passionate but many still suffer from burnout. Many of the new teachers seem to be more energetic than our teachers we’ve had for years. I don’t even know if all the teachers know about the Google reviews but wouldn’t care about the reviews due to too much fake reviews from students saying stuff like “teachers care more about appearance than your education”. To be honest, teachers don't enforce rules fair enough because while there are plenty of kids going to detention, it’s always the same students going there, like nothing is being done for them to learn about why they were doing the wrong thing, like not wearing a blazer. I honestly think the school uniform policy and the punishment system needs to be furthermore liberal, with blazers being optional, chargers being allowed, Nike bags being allowed, ties to be optional, and the school to expand rehabilitation rather than locking up repeat offending students from lunch times and after schools. Overall, the school doesn’t seem to have crazy stories that other schools get but very much tries to be private school style, offering lower end facilities but higher quality teaching than other schools in our area. All it needs is a fresh change of teachers, an overhaul of the back of the school and the school policy which I understand are not originally Ms Mullin’s policies with some changes already paved away in the school far too late, but still not close enough to being a school where kids would enjoy uniform more, meaning they are more ready to learn as what the school preaches, and scores can actually go up like what happened with Hoppers Crossing Secondary College."
"This school is horrible they care about uniform more then our education u get detention for the smallest things my daughter hates it"
"its a pretty decent school. they don't handle bullying well, and theres some really narcissistic and unfair teachers. Some do care about mental health but generally that isn't their first priority. The uniform policies are absurd, like having to wear a blazer in and out of class for no reason. And all the good teachers don't get recognised much. there's constant fights and teachers don't make changes to the lesson for any student that learns differently or just struggles in general. :("
"As a former student I wouldn’t recommend going here. The teachers care more about appearance of students than giving them hands on support. Students vape in classrooms, bully others and fight on grounds. We didn’t even get a year 12 graduation. Only good thing about this school is the music program!"
"No, I do not go to this school but after hearing an account from a former teacher about how horrific the conditions were, i would advise you to not enroll. According to her, students literally ate a chunk of the wall, all of their group my teacher taught failed their exams due to nobody paying attention in class, the students walked around with vapes during recess and lunch, people ran around with flamethrowers (I'm skeptical of this one), the office people were rude, uniform policy was extremely unjust and I could go on and on."
