"Overpriced and unimaginative food. Kitchen staff are horrible and unfriendly. The Irish barmaid was delightful so the only star I'm giving is entirely because of her. We wanted to eat in the beer garden so that my husband, who uses a stick and a wheelchair, didn't have to negotiate steps. This wasn't permitted due to the area being for smokers. Pity they haven't bothered to put in a ramp and make the place wheelchair friendly as all the entrances have steps and there is a lot of carpeted expanses and steps to deal with for someone with mobility issues. This place was so friendly under the long time previous owners and was well populated by happy locals . It is also a terrible shame that they've gotten rid of the pies that they were famous for. Sad demise!"
"It gets very busy on weekends for dinner, you need to book a table in advance or else just wait outside until get a spot. The food is good, and the best thing to me was finding a Guinness in tap."
"The Ivanhoe has been renovated. New paint, New carpet etc etc. Tonight May 27, 2023, is the first time that I have been in since the new took over August 2022. The staff 10/10 are helpful and friendly. Made us feel at home. We ordered our meal and sat at our table. Atmosphere is great, felt relaxed and enjoyable. 10/10 Meals arrived hot and looked and tasted great. Above the usual pub food standard. Meals were delicious and a medium sized portion. I'm a big eater. Steak was cooked to our request 10/10. Prices are higher than the standard pub food, however the quality is Upmarket.
