"I recently had to use SMART capital for some repairs. The repairs were fine but the customer service was appalling. When I went in to collect my car, the car had incurred some damage during the repair process , the rubber sealing by the driver windshield was ripped off. I asked them politely to fix it. An estimator by the name of Joe responded extremely aggressively and obnoxiously saying “ you have caused this” “ we’re not going to do anything about it” and kept arguing with me and accusing me of having known about the water seal prior and refusing to take any ownership that the damaged was caused by the company. He was hysterical and kept yelling that I had caused it. I kept telling Joe that this was caused while the vehicle was in repair and that I have pictures I took beforehand to have evidence of the work that the car was going into repair; the actual repairs that were needed were ALSO in the front of the vehicle and the sealing SMART had damaged were also in the front of the car ; to which he kept denying and kept calling me a liar. He was unprofessional , rude, condescending and accusatory. I have never encountered such poor and belittling behaviour. I suggest he be given customer service training and basic lessons of communication. A patient and professional receptionist Stephanie was standing by witnessing the entire ordeal and the extremely awkward position she and I both were put in. She apologised and organised for another estimator by the name of Martello. He simply glued the water seal. Again, less than ideal solution to a damage they had caused. I had to return with the vehicle the next day again on my way to work because there was a light haze of paint on the windshield that blocked the vision at night but according to Joe; they did not touch the windshield to do any damage and I “ broke the windshields rubber seal and spray painted a light haze of paint on my own vehicle’s windshield.” This has been an extremely unpleasant and disappointing experience. I came in to get a simple paint job done and ended up with another issue. Good Customer service, workmanship, Honesty, good business practices and higher quality standards were claimed ; but it was nonexistent. I hope somebody in charge from the management would take proper action and do the right thing and get this sorted."

"Took 3 trips and 4 weeks but we finally got there. Initial crash saw minor damage to indicator plastic of the left mirror. Claimed through insurance and took the car in to SMART Mulgrave, and indicator plastic cover was fixed. About 4 days later was washing the car, and the mirror fell out. Took the car in, there was damage to the plastic holders for the mirror, which somehow were not seen in the initial repair. Mirror part was ordered and 1.5 weeks later took the car in to replace. Once the new mirror glass was in, the mirror motor was found to not be working. Seems the original crash caused more damage than just the cracked plastic indicator. 2 weeks later replacement motor arrived and replaced. Good points - the 2 subsequent repairs handled easily with $0 cost. However mirror should have been properly inspected during the initial repair hence saving all this mucking around."
