About the Business
Welcome to the Royal Life Saving Aquatic Academy in Denistone East, Australia. Located at 47 Lovell Road, our institution is proud to be a part of the renowned Royal Life Saving Society, Australia's leading water safety educator. With a strong history spanning over 125 years, we are committed to providing high-quality learn-to-swim programs, exceptional service, and state-of-the-art facilities to foster a learning-driven environment.
Situated on the grounds of Denistone East Public School in Eastwood, our academy is conveniently accessible to the local Sydney markets. In conjunction with the Department of Education (NSW), Royal Life Saving has invested in key infrastructure to better serve the surrounding communities. As a result, we are excited to announce the opening of our second purpose-built Aquatic Academy in Eastwood, joining our flagship venue in Seven Hills, which has been operating since 2010.
Our Aquatic Academy offers a range of services to the communities in and around Sydney. We provide learn-to-swim programs, training, and vocational education courses. Our goal is to not only teach swimming skills but also to promote water safety and prevent drowning incidents. In 2011 alone, over 107 people drowned in NSW, with 12 of them being under the age of 5. To address this issue, the Royal Life Saving Society Australia NSW Branch has built this Aquatic Safety Training Academy to conduct vital research and develop drowning prevention initiatives.
We are grateful for the support of the Federal and State Government in making our vision a reality. The Royal Life Saving Aquatic Academy is the first facility in the region focused on preventing injury and harm in and around aquatic environments. Our goal is to reduce the state drowning toll by 50% by 2020. To achieve this, we encourage the communities of NSW to take advantage of the training and education opportunities we offer. Remember, everyone can be a lifesaver!
At Royal Life Saving, we have developed benchmarks in consultation with government and industry leaders to ensure that all Australians have the opportunity to achieve important swimming and water safety goals. By providing training and development pathways, we aim to produce highly skilled pool lifeguards, swim teachers, and aquatic technical operators for the broader aquatic industry.
By joining us at the Royal Life Saving Aquatic Academy in Denistone East, you not only contribute to reducing drowning incidents but also build skills and networks that promote community resilience in and around our waterways.

"As a DEPS parent I was so excited for their grand opening but after almost two years of learning I had to withdraw my son from the lesson. He doesn't seems improve at all and he is now stuck at the same level for a year. He has been doing 2x30mins lessons in a row each week but unfortunately with different coaches. The reception told us unfortunately they can't customise teaching for each kid I guess that means they are treating each kid as a machine? The coaches said my son's dolphin kick is the problem that stops his progress, can't they have him do it every lesson to practice more? I emailed them two weeks ago expressing my concern and nothing come back. They are a big organization and they don't even care if kids are improve or not. The poor customer service really shocked me. Avoid this school if you don't want waste your money!"
"It's convenient, most teachers are good and most staff are very helpful. But as royal customer who joined the aquatic centre since it was open and waited it to be open for so long, we are quite disappointed for a few things; We found we were overcharged from a statement via email (that we only received once) due to their admin error but we were told they were unable to provide credit; Second time, there is clearly communication gap from centre to parents, we reported the detailed communication issue via email wishing to have further discussion, ironically, it has been nearly 2 weeks, we still haven't received any response about the communication issue."
"My 9yo and 5yo had their very first lessons on Saturday a few weeks ago. They had an assessment a day before which was late Friday afternoon and I completed their enrollment on the same day. When we turned up the next day, none of the instructors had updated student lists with them. I asked a girl at the reception a few times to reconfirm which class each of my boys would be in. Long story short, they mixed up my 9yo and 5yo. My 9yo had no trouble in the kindergarten class. My 5 yo swam to the other side using a kick board but he could't stand up, panicked and then ended up going under water. His instructor was looking away and he was completely unaware of this happening until one of the parents sitting nearby threw a kick board to my boy. Luckily he could hold his breath and he was ok. I'm sure it is unlikely to happen again, but I can't bring myself to go back here."
"I love this swim centre. Amazing Staff and classes are very well structured. Highly recommended. You will definitely see progress after every lesson."
"I brought my 3yr old boy for his first swimming lesson. The instructors are very helpful. The pool is clean and heated, feel cosy even during winter."
