In 2019, the council adopted its Let's All Play Strategy, which ensures that the future provision and management of playgrounds in the City of Canada Bay are more inclusive.

As part of the City of Canada Bay's commitment to community involvement, Timbrell Park offers the 'Friends of the Park' program. This program aims to create a strong sense of community ownership and active involvement in the management of selected parks within the city. Members of the 'Friends of Timbrell Park' attend monthly meetings to address park issues, identify maintenance needs, and contribute to the park's future development.

Timbrell Park is also home to Livvi's Place, Australia's first all abilities playground. This award-winning play space was named the best play space in the country by Parks and Leisure Australia in 2010. Developed in collaboration with the City of Canada Bay, Touched by Olivia Foundation, and Leighton Contractors, Livvi's Place aims to reduce barriers for those with special needs and promote inclusive play for children of all abilities.

In addition to its playgrounds, Timbrell Park boasts a range of amenities and activities.
