"Grab a spot on the gently sloping grass and set up camp after an easy drive from Sydney or Newcastle. Only accessible by 4WD, Mountain Arm campground is a peaceful and remote rustic camping site which offers a great family getaway within Yengo National Park, near Windsor. If you’ve got an off-road caravan or trailer, bring it along, otherwise set up the tent. Choose your spot beside the creek for a tranquil location amidst brilliantly flowering wattles before you set out to explore. The creek next to this campground tends to only hold water after rain, but the lovely big trees along the creek offer shade and plenty of birdlife to watch. There are trails for bushwalking and mountain biking nearby, and Big Yango loop trail offers excellent 4WD touring. You might spot a wombat or swamp wallaby, or even a goanna when the weather is warm."
"We had the most amazing camping experience here. We were there on the weekend after the Easter weekend and found ourselves to be the only two people there. The long drop toilets work as they are supposed to. A ranger visited the campground to top-up the toilet paper and check upon us. The creek had running water bit more than ankle deep and we could walk in it. But be careful of patches of sand in the creek as we found one of them to be quicksand. The loop trail is popular among 4WD enthusiasts who visit the place. There is a cottage named Big Yengo House about 3 km before this campground. You'll find yourself driving on grass in the bush after the Big Yengo House, just keep driving and you won't get lost."
"Stayed here recently for a quick one night trip from Newcastle. Road to yengo house is suv capable but rough for a non proper 4wd. Past yengo to this campground clearance is needed due to some humps and creek crossing at the end. Beautiful area. Campground is not massive, has only two firepits for a number (6?) Of campsites (unmarked). First in best dressed? Unsure. No sign of other fires on the ground but no rangers visited also. Long drop toilets do the job. Was very cold at night and warm in the day. During the day lots of little bugs flying around and flys. During the night was perfect with clear sky. Did the Yangon loop trail which is ok for a stock 4wd, steep and rocky with many right turns. Well kept though and just a peaceful place to visit. Will be back."
"AWD access to campgrounds is okay, 4WD only for the Yango loop track, don't attempt unless prepared for the trail. Campground is nice and open with plenty of space, creek is dry as a bone Jan 2019, prices for the camp site could be less, otherwise great spot for some quiet and star gazing."
"4WD only, very remote and not much to do... no shower but peace. A bit pricey - otherwise perfect!"
