Elephant House 27 Coleman Parade, Glen Waverley, Victoria 3150
About the Business
Welcome to Elephant House, located at 27 Coleman Parade in Glen Waverley, Australia. Our institution is a unique establishment that combines elements of a grocery store, supermarket, meal takeaway, restaurant, and point of interest all in one.
Originally established in Endeavour Hills in 2004, Elephant House was created to fulfill a long-felt need for the Sri Lankan community in Melbourne. As the demand for fast-moving consumer goods and take away foods increased, Elephant House was relocated to its current location in Glen Waverley.
At Elephant House, we pride ourselves on providing a diverse range of Sri Lankan food and grocery items to cater to the tastes and needs of our customers. Whether you're looking for authentic Sri Lankan spices, fresh produce, or delicious ready-to-eat meals, you'll find it all under one roof at our institution.
Our grocery section offers a wide variety of Sri Lankan products, including traditional spices, teas, snacks, and much more. We source our products directly from Sri Lanka to ensure the highest quality and authenticity.
In addition to our grocery store, we also have a restaurant and meal takeaway section where you can indulge in the flavors of Sri Lanka. Our menu features a range of mouthwatering dishes, from aromatic curries to savory street food favorites. Whether you dine in or take away, you can expect an authentic Sri Lankan culinary experience that will transport your taste buds to the vibrant streets of Colombo.
Elephant House is not only a place to shop and eat, but also a point of interest for those interested in Sri Lankan culture and heritage. Sri Lanka is a country with an abundant diversity of tourist attractions, and we aim to bring a taste of that to Australia. Our institution is adorned with beautiful decor and artwork that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka, creating a unique and immersive environment for our customers.
As you explore Elephant House, you'll also discover our connection to the Esala Perahera in Kandy, a grand festival celebrated in Sri Lanka to honor the Sacred Tooth Relic. The festival is a vibrant showcase of traditional music, dance, and processions, and we pay homage to this cultural event through our institution.
So whether you're in the mood for shopping, dining, or simply immersing yourself in Sri Lankan culture, Elephant House is the place to be. Visit us at 27 Coleman Parade in Glen Waverley and embark on a sensory journey to the beautiful island of Sri Lanka.

Reviews
"Prices in this place is not reasonable at all. Rice is way too expensive. Everything overall is pretty damn expensive than other Sri Lankan shops. Disappointed for few times now. Won’t go again! Feel like they have labeled the prices just as they wish :( ---------------- Not sure if google review provides a way to reply to your comment. I want to make people aware about your unfair pricing. May be "most of people" are unaware of this fact. 1. Rice prices in other places are more than $10 less of what you sell 2. String hopper flour which is $5.80 at yours and $3 in neighbouring Sri Lankan groceries. What is unfair is unfair..."
"Good range of Sri lankan groceries in Melbourne suburb. I assume that untrained casual workers are employed here. As such, didn't expect quality customer service that I see in well established Australian supermarkets."
"Went to the shop on Easter Monday to buy some items. The girl at the counter was rude and frowning at customers. I felt like she did not want to be there. She has an attitude problem. She could not care less. There was a notice not to be rude to the staff. But this girl was rude to the customers. This is my second bad experience with this person. Will never go to this shop to be treated like a headache. Will spread the word around our Sri Lankan friends to boycott this shop."
"Friendly staff. You can buy most of Sri Lankan products for good price"
"It had an experience like going to a Sri Lankan grocery store, it had almost all Sri Lankan brands from PnS, Green Cabin and The Fab products. There was a very large variety of bottled products as well."
