"Pre purchase support was great. However after sales support was poor, if you needed to refund the chair. I purchased a leapv2 with the headrest and it was giving me neck and back pain after 1-2 days of using the chair. I was hoping i could refund the chair, so i could buy another chair without the headrest during their black Friday sales with 25% off. However, i was told that I'd be subjected to a 25% restocking fee, should i refund my chair. The chair was still brand new, 2 days after i logged my enquiries about a refund or exchange. So i decided not to refund and deal with it. I was extremely disappointed that i would be subjected to a 25% restocking fee, despite the chair still being brand new. 25% off a ~1.3k chair is approx $300, which is quite a lot charged for a refund of a brand new chair! Even on forums and google, people said they weren't charged a restocking fee for a refund! 2 weeks later, the customer service team responds back and says the restocking fee would be dependant on the quality of the chair. Well that's great, except i would have used the chair more since the time i decided to keep the chair to avoid the ridiculous restocking fee. The chair wouldn't still be as new as when i enquired about the refund, despite the chair still being in good condition. On top of that, their 25% off sales have finished. If i refunded the chair, i couldn't get 25% off another chair anyway, which is disappointing. Would have been great, if they told me earlier. Truly a poor after purchase customer service experience. If purchasing the leapv2, don't buy the chair with a headrest. It really does cause neck and back problems!"
"I was happy with Leap v1. Armrest and gas lift failed after 11 years, which is reasonable. Instead of refurbishing, I put v1 in garage and bought Leap v2 for $1,600. What a mistake. Leap v2 is a piece of junk compared to v1. Very thin padding on the backrest, which comes off the frame. Other bits fall off. The chair is not stable. It rocks from side to side, and tilts to the left. Hard plastic lumbar support digs into your back. I have now replaced the gas lift and arm rests on my old v1 and am using v1 again. Much higher quality than v2. With v2, it seems Steelcase thought they could change to much cheaper construction and rely on reputation . v2 is now sitting in my garage and will go ebay for $200 because I would be embarassed to ask for more."
"Beware - the chair we ordered was not suitable and we were told we had to pay an exhorbitant fee for the return. This was not explicit in the ordering process and is in my experience highly unusual. Won't go back to this business. The chair seems nice enough but is not that adjustable (i.e. seat depth varies but not that much, lumbar support not that adjustable) I would not recommend the chair if you're looking for one suitable for a tall person."
"Popped into the show room to try out some chairs for my home office. Very professional and friendly staff answered all my questions, let me try out some chairs and made it easy for me to make my selection. Chair was delivered assembled within a week. On the day my chair was delivered I received an email with a $100 rebate offer. Steelcase were good enough to honour the new offer, showing good will. Chair is by far the most comfortable office chair I’ve had. Highly recommend."
"I went there to test out some Steelcase office chairs after reading a lot of good things about them online. They asked me if I had an appointment and even though I didn't the staff were very friendly and helpful and answered all my questions accurately. They showed me how to properly adjust all the chairs I was interested in and the correct ergonomic position to sit in an office chair while outlining the strong points of each individual chair. The staff then left me alone so that I could properly evaluate the chairs and checked in with me at the end when I was leaving to see if I had any more questions. Unfortunately the chair I decided on is currently not in stock so I will have to wait but they were very upfront and honest about this and did not pressure me to consider buying one of the other instock chairs instead. After visiting some of their competitors I was very surprised by the level of service they offer."
