CODE4FUN Sydney Programming School Hornsby
About the Business
Welcome to CODE4FUN Sydney Programming School Hornsby, located at 28-44 George Street, Hornsby, Australia. Our institution is a point of interest in the area and offers a unique learning experience for kids interested in computer science and coding.
At our school, we offer a Scratch Beginner coding course for kids at Hornsby Library. This course is divided into four levels, with 10 lessons per level, and a total of 25 projects. The main objective of this course is to ensure that students understand the fundamentals of coding and are able to create simple programs on their own. Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to develop video games like Pong, Breakout, Slither.io, Fruit Ninja, as well as create animations and cartoons. Using the block-based coding platform Scratch, developed by MIT Media Lab, students will learn important computer science concepts and coding terminology such as loops, conditionals, and variables. Our students are guided through the creation of their projects and are encouraged to work independently. They will also have access to an online programming environment with endless study materials to further enhance their coding skills outside the classroom.
By the end of the Scratch Beginner course, students will have a solid understanding of coding concepts such as loops, conditionals, and variables, and will be capable of coding simple software projects independently. To ensure their progress, all students will undergo a formal assessment, and parents will receive individual reports outlining their child's achievements and progress.
In addition to the Scratch Beginner course, we also offer a Scratch Intermediate coding course at Hornsby Library. This course consists of four levels, with 10 lessons per level, and a total of 20 sophisticated software projects. Similar to the Scratch Beginner course, students will use the block-based coding platform Scratch to develop their projects. Throughout the course, they will create their own versions of popular games like Geometry Dash, Pacman, Space Invaders, and Asteroids. They will also code an analogue clock, quiz games, and interactive drawing apps. In the Scratch Intermediate course, students will learn and apply advanced computer science concepts such as functions, nested loops, recursive algorithms, booleans, and lists. They will also gain knowledge in User Interface design and data validation. Just like in the Scratch Beginner course, students will have access to an online programming environment with endless study materials to further enhance their coding skills outside the classroom.
By the end of the Scratch Intermediate course, students will be confident in creating sophisticated projects independently and will have a strong understanding of key computer science concepts. This course will prepare them for our text-based coding courses, Intro to Java and Intro to Python. As with the Scratch Beginner course, all students in the Scratch Intermediate course will undergo a formal assessment, and parents will receive individual reports outlining their child's achievements and progress.
At CODE4FUN Sydney Programming School Hornsby, we prioritize quality continued learning and have developed a unique learning pathway for our students: Beginners > Intermediate > Advanced > Pro.
