Our primary school is a point of interest for parents and caregivers who are seeking a culturally diverse and pluralistic environment for their children. At Rainbow Street Public School, we believe that every member of our community plays a crucial role in achieving excellence in teaching and learning. We strive to create an environment where each child can reach their personal best.
As a parent or caregiver, you may be looking for engaging and educational activities to enjoy with your kids. If you have airport enthusiasts in your family, our school offers exciting opportunities to explore and learn about aviation.
We also participate in Education Week, an annual celebration that recognizes the achievements of our schools, teachers, and students. This event showcases the dedication and hard work put into providing quality education in our institution.
We value the input of parents and carers in shaping the future of NSW public education. The Department of Education has shared a draft plan for public education, inviting your valuable feedback. Your opinions and suggestions are essential in creating an educational system that meets the needs of our community.
At Rainbow Street Public School, we believe in celebrating important occasions with our school community. For Father's Day, we host a special breakfast for fathers and other special loved ones, providing an opportunity to honor and celebrate their role in our children's lives.
Sports and physical activities are an integral part of our curriculum. Our students have the opportunity to represent our school in the Zone Athletics Carnival, competing in various events such as 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, long jump, high jump, shot put, and discus.
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the land on which our school stands. We also honor and show respect to the Elders, both past and present.

"Pretty average, good education and some great teachers but a few of my favourite teachers had complications with the principal/other teachers and they had to leave the school."
"This is a super bad school. bullying by principle, leaves struggling kids behind, don't prevent violence from students. Some TeacSome here are racism!!! Today i saw the teach robbed the book from a kid. Just because that kid not listening to her. It is super bad! Ridiculous!"
"I attended this school 32 years ago only for two days, because my cousins were also there. I was in short family trip to visit cousins, but it surely was a lovely experience. I didn‘t speak English at that time, but the teachers were very friendly, they kept trying to communicate with me. I even had a friend named Gloria back there. Still remember the yellow t-shirt with Rainbow Street written on it :)"
"I go back a long way having started school here in 1946. In my experience all teachers were fairly good. Both Oswald Carrick an Bill Fletcher, Principal and Deputy took classes as well as admiñistrative duties. Tuck shop started c1950. Few mothers worked post WW 11 so volunteered to keep it going. A school band was formed c1951 and Is had a movie camera to record special events. At 80 years of age I still have annual school photos, but only remember a few names. We all walked to school."
"My daughter has attended Rainbow Street Public School for 6 years now. She has received a great education and thoroughly enjoyed her time there. As with all children, some do better with certain teachers, it really is just how the child and teacher relate; that hasn't changed since I went to school! The grounds are huge, so the children get lost of space to just play. The school is quite diverse, multicultural and has a few special needs classes, so the children do learn tolerance and acceptance as a matter of course, which is great."
