About the Business
Welcome to St John Bosco Catholic Primary School Engadine, located in the beautiful suburb of Engadine, Australia. Our school, situated at Banksia Avenue, 109-111, is an establishment that is proud to be a point of interest and a primary school.
At St John Bosco Catholic Primary School Engadine, we benefit from a unique partnership with our senior school, St John Bosco College. Both schools are founded on the charism of Don Bosco, and we firmly believe that 'education is a matter of the heart'. With this philosophy in mind, we have fostered a supportive school community that extends across both schools, creating a seamless educational pathway from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Our dynamic learning environment offers a wide range of specialist programs that inspire our students to become responsible citizens of the future. We encourage them to adopt lifelong learning habits and to 'Innovate, Empower, and Discover'. We are proud to congratulate you on taking the first step towards becoming a part of this wonderful community.
As the Principal of St John Bosco Catholic Primary School Engadine, it is my privilege to lead this school towards educational excellence. Our highly professional and nurturing educators are committed to delivering flexible and creative learning experiences that allow our students to become critical thinkers, effective communicators, and collaborative problem-solvers.
Nestled in the heart of Engadine, our school is an integral part of the famous Bosco community. Our strong connection to the college ensures that our students are provided with rich and authentic learning experiences as they mature into good, honest citizens who can make a positive contribution to society. We are a well-resourced school, both in the classroom and on the playground, as we believe that every student deserves the best educational opportunities that we can provide.
As the Principal, my leadership is guided by three key values: Relationships, Presence, and Empowerment. I am committed to developing authentic relationships with staff, parents, and students to build a collaborative community focused on improving student learning and wellbeing. I am dedicated to being present for all those I lead, actively listening, communicating clearly, acknowledging different perspectives, and showing empathy. Furthermore, I am committed to empowering others to be the best versions of themselves so they can make a positive difference in the world.
I invite you to come and see our school in action and experience the amazing spirit that is Bosco. You will soon feel and understand the warmth, care, and dedication that permeates every aspect of our school community.
St John Bosco Catholic Primary School Engadine has a rich history that dates back to its founding in 1959 by four Salesian Sisters. The school moved to its present site on Banksia Ave in 1962 and was led by the sisters until 1999 when leadership transitioned to the laity. Today, with over 800 enrolments, our school continues to thrive and benefit from the strong Bosco community. Many of our parents are past students, and their fondness for the Bosco way resonates loudly. The Salesian priests and sisters continue to have a strong presence in our school, sharing the spirit of Don Bosco with our students.
Don Bosco believed that if children were guided by religion, reason, and loving kindness, they would grow to be good Christians and honest citizens. This belief, known as his Preventive System of Education, is at the heart of our school today. We strive to ensure that every child not only feels loved but knows that they are loved.
Our vision is to create a community that innovates, empowers, and discovers. In the spirit of Don Bosco, our mission is to challenge, motivate, and inspire responsible citizens of the future.
St John Bosco Catholic Primary School Engadine enjoys a close relationship with the parish of St John Bosco Engadine. Our parish priest, Fr Michael Court, is a welcome presence in the school and regularly visits our classrooms. Mass times are as follows: Monday at 9.20am, Tuesday at 7.30pm, Wednesday to Friday at 9.20am, Saturday at 6.00pm (Vigil), and Sunday at 8.00am, 9.30am, and 6.00pm.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our schools and offices now stand and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
