"Very rude and unhelpful bespectacled woman checkout operator at Hawthorn Downtown Groveries who was not be at the counter and gets upset when one rings the bell for service. When she serves the customer she goes to another counter and serves another customer to rush one along when one is taking out one's wallet to pay. She doesn't help with packing the groceries and rushes customers who are not in other customers way or blocking the queue to be served. When one asks for the owner she just remarks Don't know in a harsh tone. The only good thing about this store is the reasonable prices and wide array of choices plus wide aisles. Previous staff were polite and helpful"

"Visited for the first time today and this place is really great. Unlike the other Asian grocery stores on Glenferrie Road, this one is well lit, clean, and everything is easy to find. It helps that the aisles are also quite wide. Even a trolley could comfortably navigate the stores. They also have a wide range of products and best of all, competitive prices."
