About Paradise Pool
Welcome to Paradise Pool, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Woodford, Australia. Located on Bulls Creek, this beautiful natural waterhole has become a popular swimming spot in recent years. The pool is adorned with a picturesque waterfall that adds to its charm and allure.
To reach Paradise Pool, embark on a short but moderately challenging walking trail. While there are multiple ways to access the pool, the easiest and shortest route starts from Railway Parade, close to Linden train station. From the Great Western Highway, take the Tollgate Drive exit, and then turn into Railway Parade. After a few hundred meters, you'll find a designated car park that was built in 2021.
The walking trail from Railway Parade to Paradise Pool is approximately 3 km return and mostly takes you through bushland. Although it's a relatively easy walk, there are some steep sections and a bit of rock scrambling involved. We recommend wearing sturdy hiking shoes to navigate the more challenging parts of the trail.
Begin your adventure by locating the start of the walking trail at the northern end of the car park. The initial section of the trail follows a fire trail, which was once part of Cox's Road. This historic road, constructed by William Cox in 1815, was a remarkable feat given the difficult terrain. After approximately 500 meters, the trail veers into the bush at the Dawes Park Reserve sign.
From this point, it's another 900 meters to Paradise Pool, but be prepared for some challenges along the way. The trail descends steeply on a rocky surface before leading you through staircases and a narrow path adorned with scenic bushland and charming footbridges. As you approach the pool, the path follows Bull Creek, creating a serene atmosphere with lush ferns and low trees.
Upon reaching the pool, you'll understand why it's called Paradise Pool. The secluded surroundings, sandy bottom, and deep water make it an ideal destination for adventure seekers. The small waterfall adds to the tranquility and beauty of the spot. To access the other side of the pool, follow the path down from the rocky area next to the top of the waterfall. There is a sandy area on the opposite side where it's easiest to enter the water.
Please note that Paradise Pool and its surrounding area are relatively small, so it can quickly become crowded, especially on warm weekends and public holidays. To ensure everyone's enjoyment, it's best to visit on weekdays or arrive early on weekends, limit your stay, and leave no trace behind.
We kindly request your help in preserving the charm of Paradise Pool by spreading the word responsibly. While it's not a secret spot, we believe that word of mouth is the best way to share its location. Let's work together to keep the crowds down and maintain the tranquility of this natural paradise.
Paradise Pool is easily accessible, with clear signage and a purpose-built car park for your convenience. Come and experience the beauty and serenity of this hidden oasis in Woodford, Australia.
Reviews of Paradise Pool
"Great place to visit. Great for a dip. Great for ice dip winter style, 5 degrees. Fairly easy to walk down to. Great view when to get to the bottom. But of a steep climb on the way back, medium level walk, not super hard. It's worth the visit."
"An drawl hike but worth it when you get to the bottom. Sand beach, waterfall with a shelf to sit on underneath it, cool water, fairly unknown"
"Definitely worth a look while in the area"
"Beautiful waterfall & a lovely place to swim. Sand to sit on & relax. Little bit of shade, but not much. Water is very refreshing after the walk down. Definitely recommend checking the weather forecast before going, as we got caught in a hail storm on the walk back upto the car park."
"Peaceful and lovely. Be adviced: don't swim with your smart watch. Minerals in the water broke my watch."
