Reviews
"Great food, seemed very authentic :) we had the antipasto to share (plenty) and then the pappardelle al funghi and the rigatonni amatriciana The service was excellent."
"Good food, with full-on Italian theme and vibe. Made a little nano Italia with windows, tables chairs and the other wall decor. Although every one, including chefs, manager and servers are very much multi ethnic Melbournians. Would recommend booking in advance, we didn't and yet managed to get a table on a Friday afternoon for precise 30 minutes. Food arrived on time."
"Great pasta and quite a popular place. I got the ravioli napoli which had amazing flavour and taste. The portion is enough to be satisfied from the meal. Expect to spend $30 for a pasta here. I would also recommend booking in advance."
"I'm not sure why the reviews are so high here. They don't take bookings and when you arrive and there are empty seats you still get sent away for 30min? Waiters weren't friendly. There is no menu and everything is written on the board with no prices. The portion sizes were small and taste was sub par. Spaghetti marinara $31.50, small in size and just average in taste. Mushroom risotto $25.00. edible but not good. Spaghetti carbonara $25.00 was pretty terrible. Boiled spaghetti, hardly any seasoning and a few pieces of meat... If this is their standard, it is worse than most home chefs. I wouldn't spend any money here. There are many nice Italian restaurants in Melbourne and this is not one of them."
"Ok. Nothing really bad but for $80 for two, and in and out in 40 min, it was a bit rich. Greasy I mean burnt old oil taste, schnitzel. Neither crisp nor tasty it was like your old Nan dishes you up a bad dinner. A Cold pat cooked roast potato and greasy pile of fried Swiss chard and onions. Mate had a ‘Parma’ and let’s say he said ‘“I ate it” sort of says a lot. Served really quickly, great waitress and wine for $11 wasn’t bad. Probably a not return which is a shame as it’s a great little place and a bit of an institution. Like Pelegrín's, it left us wanting something more than mediocre."
