About the Business
Welcome to AALIA Restaurant Sydney, located in the heart of Martin Place. Our establishment is not just a restaurant, but a point of interest that seamlessly blends the past with the present, creating a truly unique dining experience.
Step inside and you will be captivated by our interior, which has been meticulously designed to complement the iconic MLC architecture by Harry Seidler. Every aspect of our space has been carefully considered, from the sculptural architectural features to the use of tactile materials and furnishings, creating intimate and relaxing spaces for our guests to enjoy.
At the helm of our culinary team is Executive Chef Paul Farag, who has garnered two hats within months of our opening. With years of experience and a passion for exploring lesser-known regions and coastlines of the Middle East and North Africa, Chef Farag and his team have unearthed forgotten ingredients from millennia ago and uncovered recipes from 10th century Arabic cookbooks.
AALIA Restaurant beautifully combines ingredients from across territories and times, seamlessly blending tradition with modern techniques. Our menu takes diners on an Arabian nomadic time-travelling odyssey of dishes, offering a truly unique and unforgettable dining experience.
Whether you are seeking a taste of the past or a contemporary culinary adventure, AALIA Restaurant Sydney is the perfect destination. Join us at 25 Martin Place and embark on a gastronomic journey like no other.

"A friend suggested Aalia as he had dined here a few times, I live in Melbourne and wouldn't have thought to go to Martin Place for dinner. I was not disappointed. I'm still thinking about the incredibly delicate Sea Urchin that we started with. The bone marrow dish was a flavor packed Middle Eastern pizza, with it's crunchy base playing well with the soft marrow. The Murray cod was one of the best pieces of fish I have ever eaten. The desserts were delicious and not too sweet. The cocktails were on point and the service was fast and friendly. We ate more than I photographed. This was a well crafted menu of fantastic flavors and I will be returning."
"I celebrated my birthday here recently and had the “express lunch” and it was 10/10. The food was phenomenal, service was great and overall fantastic atmosphere. The express lunch menu was perfect for a mid week birthday celebration. I will definitely be back and recommend this venue to all the foodies out there!"
"Do not hesitate to book this wonderful restaurant, just off Martin Place. Bivit and Adrien were fabulous and did everything to make it a great experience; they’re an asset to this restaurant. The food was extraordinary, and the ambience was perfect. It’s exactly what we wanted for lunch before a show nearby. (We’ve already told friends about it and they’re keen to try it.) We’ll be back next time we see a show at the Theatre Royal Sydney."
"Great service and great food. The entrees are superb delicious especially the kingfish, fresh and tasty. Haloumi is so good too. We ordered duck and lamb for the main. A little bit let down that the lamb wasn't hot enough, but the rest was just so good."
"My favorite dish was their dessert, it was surprisingly good and not too sweet for someone like me not liking sweets that much. Also love their bread, a must order dish. Duck was good too, been there a few times. Loved every dish we ordered."
