Yakiniku Yokocho Burwood
About the Business
Welcome to Yakiniku Yokocho Burwood, located at 39 Belmore Street in Burwood, Australia. As an establishment, food, point of interest, and restaurant, we are excited to bring one of Shinjuku's hidden gems to Regent Place.
In Japan, "Yokocho" refers to the hidden alleyway eateries that are not easily discovered by the casual passer-by. However, once you find us, you will embark on an exciting journey of fun and exotic flavors found only in Japan.
Our specialty is "Yakiniku," which simply refers to grilled barbecue meat. By combining Yakiniku and Yokocho, we have created a culture and lifestyle of great gatherings, food, and drinks.
At Yakiniku Yokocho, we aim to recreate the vibrant and dynamic essence of Japan's laneways at Regent Place. With our bustling alleyway atmosphere, you will experience a taste of the lively Japanese nightlife culture. Neon lights and the aroma of delicious grilled meats create a nostalgic ambiance reminiscent of the Showa era.
Our menu offers the best dishes that can only be found here, paired with traditional Japanese drinks at affordable prices. Please note that all prices are subject to change without notice.
We are open from Thursday to Saturday, with lunch hours from 12pm to 3pm and dinner hours from 5pm to 10:30pm (last order at 9:40pm). On Monday to Thursday, we are open for dinner from 5pm to 10pm, and on Friday and Saturday, we have lunch hours from 12pm to 3pm and dinner hours from 5pm to 11pm (last order at 10:15pm).

Reviews
"The restaurant boasts a pleasant atmosphere with ample space and a great vibe, creating a comfortable setting for diners. The staff is friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall positive experience. While it may be on the pricier side, which is common nowadays, the enjoyable ambiance and attentive service make it a justifiable option for those looking for a quality dining outing."
"Premium beef was pretty good.. but bit overpriced this quality compared to Bexley North.. (one of my favourites) atmosphere is good n design well done. I did go to city one before, n I think that city one is still better than Burwood, to be honest One important thing is that DO NOT ORDER KIMUCHI.. something wrong (I had the same weird taste at city one, too) Parking is free to use at a public car park that's good as well."
"We went on Friday 8pm about a month after the restaurant opened and it was full (we had a reservation). The restaurant interior has a traditional Japanese vibe and a pleasant lively ambiance. The staff were very courtesy and friendly and quickly bought the items ordered on the tablet. The exhaust fan positioned closely above the charcoal burner above was very efficient and no smoke escaped. We have the exact same charcoal burner at home and use #9 Wagyu beef. The charcoal was too cool (I could place my hand above for >5 seconds) and did not sizzle / cook as quickly as it should. We ordered the $22 M01 Beef Short Rid which was good (pictured), and the $19 M05 Beef Rib Finger to try something different (which as OK, but would have been better off with a second round of M01). The portions of everything we ordered were a good size and everything was tasty. We paid $210 for three adults including a couple of alcoholic beverages. While I liked it, my wife in comparison would prefer Rengaya Casual Dining in Emerald Square. It has greater variety compared to Yokocho (which is a mix of Japanese and Korean) which doesn’t have sushi, sashimi, Takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and the salad, which consisted basically of lettuce, with a sesame oil and seaweed garnish (i.e. it didn’t have a Japanese dressing which she likes)."
"They offered the authentic Japanese restaurant atmosphere and very friendly services even in a busy environment. I have to emphasize the meat in this restaurant is extraordinarily tender and juicy. Of course, it comes with the excellent plate decoration. Have tried several Japanese traditional dish but never had at other places. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again and again."
