Lapwing Reserve
About the Business
Welcome to Lapwing Reserve, a stunning establishment nestled in the heart of Saint Ives, Australia. As a newly opened parkland, Lapwing Reserve offers an impressive 2,000 square metres of pristine natural beauty, seamlessly blending with the existing park in Carcoola Road.
Named after the iconic masked lapwing plover birds, which are indigenous to Australia and can be found flourishing in the park, Lapwing Reserve is a true haven for nature enthusiasts and those seeking tranquility. The community had the privilege of choosing the name through a survey in 2015, reflecting the deep connection locals have with their surroundings.
This remarkable reserve came to life through the thoughtful acquisition of two properties previously owned by Roads and Maritime Services. The purchase was made possible by development contributions, funding generated by new developments and dedicated to the creation of community facilities, such as parks and playgrounds. This demonstrates the commitment of Lapwing Reserve and its creators to providing a space that enriches the lives of both residents and visitors alike.
Operating hours at Lapwing Reserve are from 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, ensuring ample time for you to immerse yourself in the natural wonders that await. Additionally, our friendly and knowledgeable staff are available for online chat or can be reached at (02) 9424 0000 for any inquiries you may have.
Located at 818 Pacific Highway, Gordon 2072, Lapwing Reserve stands as a testament to the Ku-ring-gai Council's dedication to recognizing and honoring the traditional custodians of the land. We pay tribute to the elders of the past, present, and emerging, acknowledging their invaluable contribution to the rich cultural heritage of Australia.
Discover the beauty of Lapwing Reserve, where nature and community come together harmoniously. Experience the tranquil ambiance, lush greenery, and the captivating presence of the masked lapwing plover birds. Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat, a place to connect with nature, or simply a spot to unwind, Lapwing Reserve is the perfect destination for you.

"Cute little park. Has swings, slides, seesaw and balancing logs etc. Green area to kick a ball or have a picnic. There is two picnic tables. Downside is there is no toilets. There is also a water bubbler. Would definitely visit again. It is surrounded by homes so felt I had to keep the kids quiet."
"A lovely, medium sized, safe enclosed playground with swings, see-saw, 3 slides and places to run, hide and climb."
"My kids (5 and nearly 2) loved this park! The large slide was a hit for the older, and my younger loved the ground level roundabout. Plenty of secure rocks and tree stumps to climb and hop on! Swings, a seesaw, a little cubby house and benches made this neat playground feel complete! Loved all the native plants too. We will definitely be visiting here again!"
"Really nice park with brand new equipment and large grass area out the back. Key highlights also include a shade cloth over the equipment and a child-resistant gate"
"Hidden on a quiet street it has a variety of activities and is well shaded for those hot days. It also has a big grass area in the back for lawn games. Most of the ground is covered in rubberised softfall so babies are good to crawl around. No sand, scooter track or climbing. But to shaded seating areas and a couple of benches. Very well appointed given is tidy size."
