Bella Vista Farm Elizabeth Macarthur Drive, Bella Vista, New South Wales 2153
About the Business
Welcome to Bella Vista Farm, a historic and culturally significant institution located in the scenic surroundings of Bella Vista, Australia. Situated on 20 hectares of rural landscape, this establishment is a true gem and a point of interest for both locals and tourists alike.
Dating back to the late 1700s, Bella Vista Farm boasts a well-preserved farm complex that holds immense historical value for the nation. The highlight of this complex is the two-storey homestead, complemented by a beautiful Bunya Pine lined driveway and various farm outbuildings. These structures stand proudly on a prominent hilltop, serving as a testament to the enduring connection between the community today and Australia's earliest rural development.
In 1998, Bella Vista Farm was transferred into the ownership of The Hills Shire Council, who have since adopted a Conservation Management Plan for the site. This plan aims to ensure the restoration and long-term conservation of the property, while also providing a unique venue for a range of complementary uses. As a result, Bella Vista Farm has become a cherished destination for both locals and visitors, offering a glimpse into the rich history of the region.
The surrounding grounds of Bella Vista Farm are open to the public and offer a variety of amenities for visitors to enjoy. From a well-equipped playground and BBQ facilities to picnic tables, walking tracks, and dog-friendly areas (dogs must be kept on a leash), there is something for everyone to appreciate. The entrance to the farm is conveniently located on Elizabeth Macarthur Drive, just off Norwest Blvd, and ample car parking is available on the outer grounds.
One of the highlights of Bella Vista Farm is the regular open days hosted by the Friends of Bella Vista Farm. Taking place on the first Sunday of each month, these open days provide full access to the farm and the opportunity to interact with knowledgeable volunteers who are passionate about the farm's history. Feel free to relax in the beautiful gardens, bring a picnic lunch for your family, and explore the fascinating homestead and farm buildings.
In addition to open days, Bella Vista Farm also plays host to a range of large community and cultural events. From Australia Day celebrations to Shakespeare in the Park and concerts like the Red Hot Summer Tour in 2020, there is always something exciting happening at this vibrant venue.

"a very beautiful historic place! the area is so nice when it’s a sunny day, there’s a lot of nature and it gives off a cottage vibe feel. although i was a little disappointed there was only sheep here, they had some beautiful scones and tea which made it a lot better to sip tea and eat at the farm! it has an open day on the first sunday of every month"
"It is a nice place to visit with family. The hill like setup gives it a very nice feel. Ample place on the ground for families to enjoy in peace. There are washrooms and fresh water taps. The only regret I have is very less space to park vehicle."
"gorgeous historical place in Bella Vista, attended a concert on this occasion but plenty of green space to choose from for a picnic or family get together."
"Great Venue! Enjoyed Red Hot Summer Event. The line up was great closing up the night was legendary Paul Kelly. Good selection of food and drink. Food & drink queues moved quickly, bathrooms were surprisingly clean and exiting ran smoothly."
"2023 Red Hot Summer concert was great. Perfect place for a concert, with a natural amphitheatre, easy access with plenty of parking, and an easy exit to the street from the back car parking area."
