About the Business
Welcome to Sun Ming Restaurant, located at 173A Forest Road in Hurstville, Australia. Stepping into Sun Ming is like taking a nostalgic trip to a classic Hong Kong diner. Do you remember those "Cha Can Teng" restaurants that you used to visit with your family? Well, we serve your favorite comfort food all day long, from breakfast to lunch and dinner.
As soon as you enter Sun Ming, you will feel like you've been transported back to a familiar environment, with the lively chatter of friends and family surrounding you. Our restaurant is not just a place to eat; it's a point of interest where memories are made and shared.
Uncle Sun and Uncle Ming, both originally from Hong Kong, started their culinary journey working in kitchens around the bustling city. Fate brought them together in Australia in the 90s while they were working down the road from each other. Inspired by their shared passion for cooking, they decided to open the original Sun Ming in 1993. Since then, they have spent years perfecting the dishes that you can now enjoy at our establishment.
We are open from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 10 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 am to 10 pm. Whether you're looking for a hearty breakfast, a quick lunch, or a delicious dinner, Sun Ming is here to satisfy your cravings.
So come on down to Sun Ming Restaurant and indulge in the flavors of Hong Kong. Experience the warmth of our hospitality, the authenticity of our dishes, and the joy of sharing a meal with loved ones. We can't wait to serve you!

Reviews
"The portion for the afternoon tea set is so small and compare to other hk style cafe in sydney , it’s expensive. And the toast was over cooked and dry. The egg sandwich was like homemade more than a hk styled cafe. Basically overpriced for a cafe but staff was friendly."
"Recently moved to the area and tried this place as my first local meal. Food is well presented, taste good and quite affordable. Service is friendly and fast. Will definately go back."
"Affordable set rice ! The only expensive thing here was the hotplate tofu.. but taste amazing! Everything here is not salty. So if you luv less salty food i bet u love it here. Cause my parents love it"
"They do classic comfort food good here Just so many choices to choose from! Rice was fluffy, beautifully coated and garnished, and the pasta was all dente and creamy but not overbearing. I've had better french toast before at places in Burwood, but this one was okay!"
"I have been here a few times over the last 10 years. The food is pretty average now. For example, the salt and pepper prawn wasn’t tasty. Also, the customer service is not as good as in the past, so I’m giving it a low review (previously I would have given a higher rating)"
