"A delightful homey Northeastern Chinese (Dongbei) restaurant with flavourful dishes and big portions, as is the Dongbei way. August 2022: The chicken shiitake pan-fried dumplings ($12.8) were tasty, and tomato egg noodles ($12.8) featured chewy, handmade noodles (in a huge portion). April 2023: The fuqi feipian (sliced beef shank and beef tripe in an addictive spicy sauce made of chilli oil, Sichuan pepper, garlic, vinegar, topped with coriander, raw onion, slivered carrots and roasted peanuts) ($19.8) is delicious and the flavours perfectly calibrated. The pork chive pan-fried dumplings ($14.8) were a tad dry that day. You get a whopping 14 dumplings! August 2023: 火爆腰花 "fire-exploding kidney flowers" is a spicy and delicious dish of stir-fried pork kidneys with red and green chilli, bamboo shoots and wood ear fungus."
"Delicious, the space is small but clean, service is friendly"
"Flavor is pretty good but the food delivery is slow"
"This unpretentious, small restaurant has seen a lot of improvement and is deserving of the large crowds it draws at lunchtime. Whilst we had trouble finding a seat, the server was accommodating and was very proficient in managing a busy dining room by herself. We ordered chicken stir fried noodles, pan fried pork buns and cong you bing (scallions pancakes). The hand pulled noodles have a chewy texture that is perfect for slurping and savouring its delicious, vinegar sauce. The pork buns were seared to a golden brown on the bottom, complementing its fluffy dough that had soaked up the rich pork juice. If only it had more filling to make the dish even more incredible! Compared to your traditional cong you bing, the pancakes are deep fried, further enhancing the aroma and flavour of the scallions with a addictive crunch each time. We also ordered hua juan (Mandarin roll), small pork buns and a pork belly gua bao for takeaway. Unfortunately, their breakfast menu is no longer available alongside their buns. The gua bao is stuffed with delicate pork belly marinated in a sweet rich sauce. The hua juan are shockingly huge and does its job well in ensuring you don't go hungry in the morning. Considering its generous portions, you think it would cost a bit but it's the complete opposite! They serve amazing, affordable food from dinner dishes to street food. A little Chinese restaurant with big heart definitely gets mine and hopefully, your respect."
"Definitely had some delicious dumplings here yesterday. They were so good! Also got the dry Fried green beans with pork which was tasty but really oily I actually couldn't eat that much. I do find this dish to always be too oily whenever I'm having northern chinese cuisine and maybe it's meant to be like this I'm not sure. Lovely service though and very clean. Definitely go back though!"
