"Ground is big, water view is soothing and I like the place. But on a busy holiday there is not enough tools/toys/outdoor activities in the kids park. More than that, I have observed a few times now that adult people occupy the kids park and that costs the poor kids to just watch the adults displaying bad example. Sad but true, adults need to learn and offer the kids play ground to kids on busy days."
"Nice oval, great little playground for the kids, exercise equipment, a walking track that goes around the edge great for kid riding or for walking. Great skate park for all ages"
"It's a really nice park for families to go to and have a little picnic and a lot of space for kids to play and have fun."
"Good location, plenty of things for kids to do, playground, bike path, skate park, cricket pitch, netball court, BBQ area"
"Hornsby Council is to be highly commended for their efforts in being one of the few Sydney Councils to build (and maintain!!) custom trails for the community to access and appreciate natural environments both on foot or astride a mountain bicycle! They recently built a lovely little 1km educational nature trail skirting the perimeters of the soccer fields and Hayes Oval netball courts. Perfect for school groups and young families, it has been well-marked and mapped, and there are about 5 beautifully designed information plaques to educate visitors about the natural features of Galston Recreation Reserve. This short trail, however, only covers a tiny fraction of this large reserve. Please build more extensive (5-15km +) offroad cycling, horse riding and walking trails in Galston Rec Reserve so we can appreciate its natural environments. Link it through to Galston High, Mid-Dural Road, Edwards Rd, the historic Fosters Reserve swimming hole and Old Northern Road via the sub-station, the Nature Reserve & Colah Creek... It would be great to just spend time relaxing up on the rocky ridgelines... or swimming/playing/walking/mountain bicycling along Colah Creek & its verdant bushland surrounds."
