About the Business
Welcome to Harry's Café de Wheels - Tempe! Located at 886-896 Princes Highway, our institution has been proudly serving customers for over 80 years. With a rich history and iconic dishes, we are more than just a bakery, cafe, and restaurant - we are a point of interest and a beloved establishment.
Harry's Café de Wheels was founded by the legendary Harry "Tiger" Edwards, a man with a passion for late-night snacks. Frustrated by the lack of options, he decided to open a caravan café near the front gates of Woolloomooloo naval dockyard in Sydney, Australia. Despite the local city council's requirement to move the caravan a minimum of 12 inches a day, Harry fearlessly named it 'Harry's Café de Wheels'. His courage, along with his boxing skills, earned him the nickname "Tiger" - a name that lives on in our iconic pie.
Our original location in Woolloomooloo still serves the famous Tiger pie, while our growing number of outlets across the globe continue to satisfy taste buds. And yes, our caravan cafés now move a "little" more than 12 inches a day. With each bite of our delicious food, an overwhelming sense of nostalgia should wash over you, connecting you to Harry's humble beginnings and rich past.
Over the years, Harry's Café de Wheels has attracted a star-studded clientele. From Frank Sinatra to Sir Elton John, even Prince Harry himself couldn't resist sinking his teeth into our Tiger pie. Our institution has become a meeting point for different generations, leaving mouths watering and hearts full of memories.
Whether you're craving a hearty meal, a quick takeaway, or simply want to experience a taste of history, come visit us at Harry's Café de Wheels - Tempe. Indulge in our famous pies, enjoy our warm and welcoming atmosphere, and be a part of our storied legacy.

"I decided to stop by and grab something for dinner. Great hamburger, flavorful and tasty. Large portions and good price."
"Good place to come if you need a quick bite to eat but don’t expect anything amazing. Average pies ($6.90) Great fresh chips made to order ($6) Great thick shakes ($7) staff friendly. Plenty of parking and indoor and outdoor seats available. Toilets on site."
"Harry's, a renowned landmark in Sydney, serves delectable classic Aussie pies and sausage rolls of superior quality. There is limited seating available outside, offering picturesque water views. Nevertheless, for an exceptional dining experience, take a leisurely stroll to the Domain or the Royal Botanic Gardens and enjoy your meal amidst the serene surroundings."
"Ordered a beef, bacon, and cheese pie, it looked really nice and the pastry was ok, the filling was really tasteless. Wouldn't buy a pie from here again based on that experience. The chips and gravy were very nice. I've heard such good things about Harry's. I would try dining in next time and trying other items on the menu."
"Every once in a while you feel like a hot dog, chips or pie and this is the place for such comfort food on that last minute whim. It ain't flash or glitzy but you can drive right up and hang in the carpark or take your order inside to the provided tables. Heaps of Pies to choose from and dogs can be piled up with toppings and it can get quite messy. Yet it's great local street food and perfect for a quick bite, drink or coffee. Definitely a place for pie lovers to try."
