"Incredible. Incredible service. Everything has an amazing amount of flavour, and each bite leaves you wanting more. Make sure you try a bottle of the Portuguese wine with your meal. The octopus was a dish to remember, Delicious. Thank you!"
"Went to Silva’s for a lunch as I have been exploring different Portuguese restaurants and the bulk of them seem to be around the Petersham area. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in, it was quite busy already as there were filled tables of diners. They have a hot food section/salad bar type where you can pick out food such as Portuguese chicken with chips and salad. We actually ordered off the menu and went abit more authentic with the Bife Portuguesa and the Porco Alentejana. The Bife is Portuguese style beef that came with a fried egg and bits of prosciutto, served with their signature round chips. Steak cooked medium rare which was our preference and it was cooked perfectly, the egg and prosciutto went well with the Portuguese style marinade and the potato round chips soaked up the juices of the meat but was still very crunchy. The Porco Alentejana is marinated pork with pipi’s and small square sized bits of potato deep fried. Pork was very soft and cooked perfectly , the pipi’s came with the shell but the actual pipi meat was mixed in the plate and was tasty. There are bits of pickled vegetables that come with this dish such as carrots and cauliflower. Definitely an authentic Portuguese dining experience, will be back to try the rest of the menu items."
"Fantastic Portuguese food served here. The restaurant has changed owners recently and the space has had face lift. The food was pretty good. We had the Bacalhau à Lagareiro and Espetada de carne, both beautifully done and super tasty. Please give this place a try if you haven’t done so already. Service was pretty good, prices can be a little above average but the quality of the ingredients is noticeable, so very much worth it."
"Sub par chicken burger. Got their most expensive one the Silvas meal and got a burger with a tiny chicken fillet surrounded by white bread, cheap Mayo and lettuce tomato ..: and this whole portion of chips is old and inedible. Considering the restaurant is full…. Not even sure why their fries is this bad and not fresh. Literally had ogalo last night and that was $3 more for their jumbo meal (double chicken patty) and way better across the board. 0 stars"
"WHY DOES IT TAKE SO DAMN LONG FOR FOOD TO COME OUT?? If you can't wait an hour and a half upwards for your mains to come out and spend your whole night in this loud noisy restaurant, you're going to have a bad time. The staff are nice, the atmosphere is honestly not the best, the food is nice but watching six tables of 5+ people diners get served their mains before you feels terrible. Did they literally pull the meat out the freezer, thaw and cook it from frozen? Because it sure feels like it. There is no delivery option here, seems short staffed because it takes ages to wave down staff. I watched one of the waitresses spill half a bottle of Coca cola on two tables (original table + table behind them), she cleaned it up but didn't offer to replace the drink at the original table. Not saying they should be entitled, but I would be VERY unhappy had she spilled it on my phone like she did with the original table. The food overall can be broken down into meat, oil, salt, thyme/parsley + side of veg or carb per dish. Interesting choice to season the lamb cutlets with balsamic oil. I think this place is worth trying, but personally would not come back here. I would say my patience is at best 40min wait for the main after placing the order, then additional time allocated for dining."
