"Always reliable and good tasting Chinese (Cantonese) food that is reasonably priced. Not the most fancy place in terms of decor, but the food is good, fresh and always tasty! One of our regular dining rooms...."
"We walked in without a booking on a Saturday night. A very crowded night with big families out, but all their tables were like for 10, nothing for the two of us. A lady promptly greeted us warmly and set up our table, which was nice. From then on, a man looked after us. He had the demeanour of a car salesperson, which made us feel uncomfortable. He was quite pushy with trying to sell us the lobsters in their tank. We agreed to get a lobster and asked about a specific sauce but he abruptly told us 'NO, that sauce won't taste good with lobster'. He only gave us two options for the sauce. We ended up going with ginger and shallots. An expensive price to pay when we can't really choose how to have our lobster! When it came out, it looked promising, but the noodles were really bland. The lobster was delicious though, and that is what we ate only. The large oysters and baby abalone we had for starters, were very tasty. However, the end bill didn't feel like it was worth the experience. We would probably try this place again, but won't order any fresh seafood. A very expensive lesson because we paid $300 just for the two of us!"
"Restaurant a bit untidy and outdated. Food served in nice presentation, clean and neat the way it should be. Service is nice. Paying enough attention to what diner need. The food taste pretty mellow and"
"The service was was worth 4-5 stars as they were very friendly and attentive how ever the food quality was pretty average. The pigeon wasn’t throughly marinated before fried resulting in an uneven flavour, the salt and pepper flavour was a bit lacking but the chicken was fried well, the pork in the mixed peas was a bit too salty while there wasn’t enough flavour in the soup of the picked vegetables. Finally the chow hor lacked wok hei (didn’t have the signature slightly burnt but not bitter flavour that a wok leaves) but the flavour was okay. My favourite half steamed chicken was sold out but I might try it another time. I would recommend this restaurant for a quick Chinese meal - passed by word it is said that the curry crab is very authentic. Edit: I like the complementary ‘desert’ - pumpkin sago soup so 4 stars."
