"The tofu we ordered was FULL of oil. Oil wasn’t strained properly. The fish was alright but could be in better standards. One of the fried rice wasn’t seasoned properly UNDER standards!"
"Went to YumCha for the first time today, ordered fried beef river, only a few slices of beef and no taste! The price turned out to be $30.80! Insanely expensive! Their menu doesn't show prices either! The cashier at the counter is also very rude! Not worth a single star! Won't be going again!"
"As far as yum cha goes, it's alright if you just have an itch to scratch. Our siu mai and har gao were lukewarm, not steaming hot as it should be. The zha leung (youtiao wrapped in rice noodle roll) was so oily, we decided to only eat the wrapping. If you're going on a Saturday or Sunday, make sure you book ahead because they will prioritise bookings over walk-ins. We walked in and waited for a table for 3 for over an hour... Not fun especially if you've got kids with you. It was pure chaos waiting for a table to open up, we had servers tell patrons to move outside passive aggressively as they scrambled to clear tables. As far as yum cha goes, you'll be better off going to nearby Chatswood or Eastwood for better food and seating efficiency."
"House of Tong is a classic Cantonese restaurant set within the North Ryde RSL. I wasn't sure what to expect but the food turned out to be pretty good! Cooking feels more rustic than refined with strong flavours, and portions are very generous. The only dishes I'd prob skip were the Peking duck (this was pre-made and not very consistent with some pancakes having lots of meat and others almost none); and the fish maw claypot which had a very strong fishy flavour. It accommodate large groups well. Unfortunately, the 10% off food deal for club members does not apply in the restaurant."
"Had dinner on a weekend with the fam. Service was lacking, a little feel like they wanted to turn around the table for second seating, but efficient. The food was pretty good, the crispy roast pork and the pipi with rice noodles were exceptional."
