"What an incredibly disappointing meal and experience. We used to be regulars here and we will no longer be going. Since the changeover to Kash, the food and service has been struggling. We've provided feedback before and kept coming back to see if there have been improvements. Today was the last time. Fritters used to be this night, light, super tasty meal. They've now turned into a deep fried crumbed fritter. Tasteless and you could get something better in the frozen aisle at the grocery store. I ordered the big breakfast. We waited 35 minutes for the food to arrive (and there were only 3 other tables in service). The poached eggs were hard boiled. The bacon was missing. The sausage was raw. For $27, extremely disappointing. ***EDIT 3/7/23: I did raise this at the time with the waitress and the counter. I asked to leave a note. Nothing. I tried to raise on site as per your response below."
"Firstly, let me just say I don't want to leave a negative review to attack or damage anyone's business but for the price I paid today I think I should leave constructive feedback. We had brunch here this afternoon. The worst breakfast I've ever had. We are locals and were looking forward to supporting the local business but unfortunately will not be back. I ordered scrambled eggs, sausage and roasted tomatoes with an extra hot hot chocolate. My meal was ready to be served but sat waiting for a while before it arrived at the table without the roasted tomatoes. I went back to ask for the tomatoes. The roasted tomatoes tasted more like roasted garlic with tomatoes and was cold when it finally arrived. The extra hot hot chocolate was not even warm. I could not drink it. My daughter had the eggs benedict with sour dough and thoroughly enjoyed her meal. However, she also ordered a strawberry lime frappe and said it had a weird milk after taste and it was more like a slushy than a frappe. So very disappointed."
"Reduced to one star. We have been back a couple of times recently and have been disappointed. The atmosphere is awkward and the fitout is very dated. It doesn’t feel like they care anymore unfortunately. Probably won’t be back. Old Review - Before new owners: Considering what Lane Cove has to offer, which can feel lacking at times, this is an absolute standout. By far my favourite place in Lane Cove, which is bazaar considering it’s location. This place would absolutely clean up in Lane Cove village. It has everything you would expect a good cafe to have. Try the Dukka Eggs or the Pea and Corn Fritters!"
"Great food, personal service! We had an All-Day Breakfast at the Eatery. My Eggs Benedict was delightful — with bacon and served on hash browns, with nice runny eggs. The mango smoothie was great, too."
