"Went for sunday breakfast. Food was awful, slap dash, and tasteless. It seemed like army food. I had scrambled eggs. They looked and tasted like rubber, so horrible. No fluffy eggs in this place. Toast was barely toasted. It was white with a few grill marks on it. I was totally disappointed in this place. It presents as a classy restaurant but it's slop. Prices don't match the quality. Staff were ok but not very interested in pleasing the customer. Door staff on entry to the club were stuffy and snobby. What's with this place. I have no desire to go back here."
"Rawsons: Excellent Food & Wine. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rawson in Epping and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. For starters, I tried the oysters and they were absolutely delicious. They were fresh and had the perfect texture and taste. For my main course, I ordered a stake cooked medium, and it was the best one I've ever had. The seasoning and cooking were just perfect, and it was incredibly tender and juicy. For dessert, I had the ice cream with affogato and amaretto, and it was a true delight. The rich and creamy ice cream paired perfectly with the coffee and almond flavors of the affogato and amaretto. I also had a very good red wine that perfectly complemented my meal. The wine list at Rawson is impressive, and the staff are knowledgeable about the various options available. Overall, I would highly recommend Rawson to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The food is outstanding, the wine list is impressive, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's definitely a must-visit restaurant for anyone in the area."
"After reading previous reviews, I was expecting it to be good but it was great! Delicious food with wonderful service and a beautiful setting."
"Saw this advertised all over instagram mostly, that souffle just looked amazing. Epping is close to home, so when we had a special occasion, a birthday. I knew that gorgeous private dining room was where we should dine. It looks like something from the real housewives! Very boutiquey, very luxurious and gorgeous. When i mentioned Epping Club to the bae who grew up around here, he’s like what?? But i reassured him we were in good hands with ex Flying Fish head chef, Nick Whitehouse. Amber the Restaurant Supervisor made it easy to book the private dining room i wanted, we had a change to the numbers last minute and it was not an issue at all. I also asked for a cheeky change to the group menu and my wish was granted. Kate looked after us for the night and explained everything perfectly, gave great recommendations, joined in on our table convos and taught us all how to pronounce “charcuterie”. Nick the head chef, also came out during the night and invited us to come back and do a chefs table experience. Yes please!! We did the $55 group menu, such amazing value and delicious food, finished with a bang of a dessert;; Zucchini Fritos with saffron aioli / charcuterie shared table entree - the olives were the most popular, so much food we didn’t finish it all Braised beef cheek / spring slaw - this was the most popular with our group, and it did not disappoint, didn’t realise beef cheek was that fatty but it tasted so good, the spring slaw was onion and mushrooms The Raspberry soufflé - the highlight of the night, recommended to eat it by eating the baked top then sprinkling the crumble inside followed by pouring the cream over the crumble. As good as i thought it was going to be, and would duck up to Epping just for this dessert!"
"I thought Rawsons would be a nice place for a dinner for 4 people. We ordered the Seared Scallops, 1/2 Lobster Mornay, 1 Full Rack of Pork Ribs, Rib Eye Steak & Scotch Fillet. For dessert, we had the Sticky Date Pudding and Raspberry Creme Brûlée. The pork ribs were the biggest let down - the sauce tasted terrible and the ribs did not look appealing at all. It was like it was braised and didn’t have that beautiful char unlike at other steakhouses. The seared scallops were nice. The lobster was slightly over cooked but overall not a terrible dish. I thought the fried rice that came with it was ok. My friend said it was too dry. The scotch fillet was nice. The rib eye was nice. I also enjoyed both desserts. The service was slightly inattentive and we gave feedback about the terrible ribs. Hopefully, it improves! Based on tonight’s experience, I would not return."
