"Had a very nice lunch here with my friend. The beef tartare was a great way to start a hearty lunch. The bouillabaisse was comfort food at its best. Apple tartine with ice cream was a delightful finish. Such a great atmosphere to dine at with lovely staff."
"Love the location on the corner to catch morning rays. A local delight, with great breakfast and also dinner. Nice atmosphere and decor. Look forward to my next visit!"
"This was our first, but certainly not last, visit to Hemingways. It was Saturday night, the classic two couples meal out. We were expecting French cuisine, but what we got was an evening in France. The venue felt authentic, with French-speaking staff attending in a regular but not intrusive manner. The food was simply tres magnifique. I had the classic steak frites and, no exaggeration, it was the best steak I’ve tasted. Ordered rare, it arrived soft as silk and perfectly cooked. Dessert was creme brulee, again perfectly crisp on top and creamy underneath. Decent wine list, including many French ones naturellement. The price worked out to be around $100 per person, but we hadn’t held back so seemed like good value - way cheaper than a flight to France. 5/5 fully recommend for a top night out in the heart of Manly."
"A beautiful authentic meal right on the beach at Manly. We had the parfait, beouf bourgignon and the boulabaise. All were excellent. The parfait was perfectly smooth, rich, and well offset by the fig jam and pickle. The bourgignon was very rich, generous and well presented. The sauce was taken right to the edge but was delicious. The truffle mash was excellent. The boulabaise was fresh, light and generous too. A few more slices of baguette would have helped. The staff were friendly and helpful."
"Hemingway’s is a unique local French bistro situated where the beach life and the city trends harmonise. The menu offered a French cuisine touch generously supported by the influence of our Australian way of life. All the food was delectable but I have to mention the Croque-Madame which was so flavoursome and delicious - I would eat it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!"
