"Good food, but really overpriced. And not just the food. $6 for a small glass of coke is a bit much. And that's on its own, not including the weekend surcharge. 16$ for a small potato croquet. We expected at least double the size really, considering those are very cheap to make, or more likely bought frozen. I will not eat here again. There's a lot better options if you're going to pay this much."
"We came with a Groupon voucher for an 8-course vegetarian banquet and it was excellent value for money. We requested everything to be vegan, which was no trouble for them. The courses included miso soup, edamame, agedashi tofu, nasu dengaku (eggplant), vegan fried chicken, rolled-up crunchy tofu skin with rice, sushi rolls, and dessert. It also included house sake, which tasted like rubbing alcohol, but hey, alcohol's alcohol. Some of the dishes were definitely better than the others. I liked the "fried chicken" and the eggplant (the sauce with the eggplant was amazing!!! I practically lapped it up.) The sushi rolls were OK, kinda generic. Wasn't crazy about the agedashi tofu for some reason. The miso soup was tasty, and the edamame was pretty much your usual steamed edamame, nothing special (although they gave us a LOT of it, which was nice!) The crunchy tofu skin with rice was very bland, and my boyfriend didn't like it at all so I ate pretty much the whole thing myself. For dessert, we skipped the typical ice cream that comes with the banquet and got vegan desserts instead. It was basically a peach-flavored jelly thing (made with agar agar, not gelatin). It was tasty, but I was honestly SO FULL at this point that I couldn't finish it. In general, I liked the meal. But I think some of the flavours could be improved (especially the sushi rolls, agedashi tofu, and crunchy tofu skin with rice). I'd also just gotten back from two weeks in Japan and I'm not sure how "authentic" some of these dishes truly were. They definitely tasted like they'd been a little bit Westernized, but maybe that's just me being picky because I had just been in Japan and had such amazing food there. The two girls who served us were also very sweet and nice. The atmosphere was nothing fancy, just a cozy little place with no frills, but it was nice. I'd definitely recommend the place if you're wanting a vegan or vegetarian Japanese banquet, especially because most Japanese places use dashi or fish in almost every dish, so it's hard to find a good vegetarian Japanese banquet. Just go wearing stretchy pants because by the end of it, you will be FULL."
"Good quality food & nice seating, but far too overpriced in my opinion. The portions are pretty standard but the miso serving was particularly disappointing. Better Japanese restaurants nearby that charge less and are more flavourful."
"Eating here right now! Nearly full house! Very fast service - got in 5 mins ago and just got served warm sake in this very cold night! We have ordered deluxe sashimi and sushi set, soft shell crab salad, and soy beans marinated! Everything is super yum!"
"I ordered some take away from here. The service was friendly and welcoming. The dishes I ordered were 1 Tori karaage 1 Unagi don with rice set 1 Unagi don 1 Edamame 1 Takoyaki. All the dishes were of excellent quality. The tori karaage was really well cooked, crispy outside and moist inside. A great dish. The Takoyaki was some of the best I've had in a very long time. The unagi don, was good quality but a little too sweet for me personally. The edamame was hot n tasty. Overall I was really impressed and I'll be back! Happy days. Previous review - February 2019 My partner and I had dinner at the Japanese restaurant and the food and the service was excellent! We ordered a number of dishes too numerous to mention ,but I took pics lol) and they were all delicious. The Japanese curry was some of the best I’ve had in Melbourne. The pork was thin and crispy, just perfect! The Unagi sushi rolls and the Unagi w rice was absolutely delicious too. We tried some sake which was light and it had s nice almost cooked rice flavour, not surprisingly hahaha Overall this was a really good experience."
