About the Business
Welcome to Roma Pizza Restaurant, an authentic Southern Italian establishment located at 66A Connells Point Road in South Hurstville, Australia. Established since 1960, our family-owned restaurant is a point of interest for food lovers seeking a taste of traditional Italian cuisine.
The Russo family, hailing from the village of Santa Caterina dell’ Iono in the Calabria region, arrived in Australia in 1983 with a passion for sharing soulful food from southern Italy with Australian families. We believe that eating is not just a means of sustenance, but a way to bring families together, enjoy the company of friends, and relish life's simple pleasures.
At Roma Pizza Restaurant, we embrace the gioie della tavola, or "the joys of the table," and the wellbeing it brings. Our menu goes beyond mere peasant food; it celebrates the frugal genius of poor Italian cooks who created delicious meals using the simplest of ingredients. With few ingredients, but much creativity and love, we carefully treat each element to bring out its full flavor. It's a celebration of the beauty found in simplicity.
From our humble beginnings in Santa Caterina dell’ Iono, we have brought the traditions of Calabrian cuisine to the vibrant community of South Hurstville. Calabrians are known as the pioneers of slow living, cherishing the importance of taking time to savor each meal and appreciate the company of loved ones.
Our Kensington branch may be closed, but you are always welcome to visit our South Hurstville location from Wednesday to Sunday during our usual trading hours. Whether you're seeking a cozy family dinner, a romantic date night, or a gathering with friends, Roma Pizza Restaurant is here to provide you with an authentic taste of Southern Italy.
Come and experience the warmth of our hospitality, the richness of our flavors, and the joy of sharing delicious meals with those you love. Join us at Roma Pizza Restaurant, where Southern Italian traditions meet Australian families.

"They always manage to get the orders wrong. 4 times in a row they’ve screwed up my order. The olives they use have seeds so be careful you don’t break your teeth, whenever I try to call and tell them the order is wrong I can never get through to them They make you wait for so long and they still can’t get it right"
"Tried take away pizza for the first time..We also read reviews and ordered this little breads - so delicious, we had them the next day for breakfast - just warmed up in the oven with cream cheese and jam..yummy! Pizza is great, and will will be back for dine in soon! ☺"
"Great food, great vibe, great customer service."
"unfortunately an incredibly average experience for the price we paid, even with a discount attached to our order. we made an order on uber eats and purchased the low key get together pack, for a total of $50 (excluding additional uber fees). we had the meatlovers, margherita, a nutella pizza, and a 1.25L bottle of coke. i believe it costed more since we opted in for the nutella pizza as our dessert option. based off the images on their store profile on the apps, i was expecting a square/rectangular shaped pizza but was met with an average joe sized of a pizza. i was pretty underwhelmed to discover this, as i had thought the price would have meant a larger pizza. the meatlovers was acceptable and the best one for me, it tasted exactly like how i expected it to, and it was delicious. the margherita pizza was unfortunately the worst of the night's food, as it had gone stale by the time of arrival, the taste was off, and we were expecting diced tomato on it but it was basically an exorbitant cheese pizza. it was extremely underwhelming, where my partner could barely bring herself to finish it. the nutella pizza was average, just okay at best. it was the same as any other nutella pizza you would get at a pizza joint, with probably about 1 and a half strawberries used for it. everything was unfortunately underwhelming, and i hate to say it but we probably wouldn't take another chance at this place, very wack"
