"Lovely historic guest house. Beautiful to stay in"

"We stayed here twice before and really enjoyed it. On this stay we were less delighted. The location is great and the house itself provides for a unique experience of a time gone by. The room, on the first floor, was well laid out with a sunny view of the back yard and the bed was warm and comfortable. We were let down though by a number of things. The lounge room no longer supports an open fireplace, nor did it have the usual guest port bottle for a night cap. Further we were not allowed to have any kind of food or drink in the lounge room. Sadly the breakfast is no longer included. The upstairs night corridor lights were unavailable, thus requiring us to descend the stairs with our smartphone light … we were told that ‘management’ considered the lights from the emergency exit sign sufficient! However on the second night a desk lamp was provided to assist our passage along the stairs (because turning on the ceiling light above the stairs was ‘too complex’) we also had to request that the outside entrance light be left on so the we didn’t have to fumble in the dark to open the front door. Overall, we’ll be staying elsewhere in future."

"Spent 2 nights at leura house. We absolutely loved the old 1880s building and antique furniture. Great value for money. Lovely deep bath, room was spacious and clean, bed was hard for me but my partner loved it. Our room upstairs overlooked the beautiful back garden, We sat under the mozzie net with a few drinks. Friendly staff. Don't expect modern. Best start ever. Can't wait to come back soon."

"Unfortunately, 1 star is the lowest rating I can give for a stay that never happened. My daughter was married yesterday in Leura. We booked 1 night at this place months ago for me, my sister and brother-in-law. I was surprised to see that full payment was taken from my credit card at the time of booking. Arrived late yesterday afternoon to find it abandoned, with a piece of paper on the door stating "Closed for repairs". No phone call, no email, no refund, nothing. So we drove the 2 hours home. Theft."

"My sister and I had rooms at Leura House earlier this week for 1 night only and we found our stay at this historic building to be absolutely delightful. The rooms were very clean, they were spacious and quiet, I had a large bathtub, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. My sister easily did the short walk to and from Leura shops. Gary was very helpful and more than happy to provide any information that we required , and with a sense humour! Overall, this place was great value for money."
