"Worth the side trip. A beauty and gem on its own."
"Don’t miss out on this excellent guided tour of some historic features associated with The Great Hunger. Gerard, the land owner & guide gives great renditions of poetry, stories and news articles from years gone by. Pre booking is essential, but well worth it."
"A fantastic way to spend a Saturday. Gerard and his wife were excellent tour guides. The tour lasted 3 hours and involved feeding lambs and sheep herding. The main part of the tour involved a 5km walk around their beautiful land and a breakdown of the immense history of the land told by Gerard. As an Irish person, I was dumbfounded by the stories told and the history of the people who had once lived there. The scenery was breathtaking and I can't recommend this tour enough. A must do if you are visiting the West of Ireland."
"My husband and I have travelled the world doing tours of every description along the way . This walking tour is beyond belief . The story of the famine in Ireland told by a farmer and his wife where everything was researched and put together to the highest standards I have ever witnessed. It is a credit to them both and I’m proud to say I have completed this tour. It’s exceptional and my advice is to get in there and do it NOW as when word gets out it’s going to be booked out . The extras they have introduced are phenomenal. Well done Gerard , Maureen and family."
"One of the best famine related experiences I have come across. Well worth doing, especially if you are visiting the area and worth driving to if not. You can feel the history in what is one of the most picturesque setting in Ireland."
