Chang Thai Restaurant @ Treacys Hotel

"Cannot fault the staff and the restaurant itself, however the food was dismal. All three courses left a lot to be desired. Wouldnt recommend or be returning anytime soon."

"I went to Chang Thai for a meal with my friends as we were on a staycation in Enniscorthy. Couldn't have been more disgusted and disappointed with the food here. I ordered sweet and sour chicken which was basically chopped up chicken goujons in a bbq sauce with whole raw tomatoes and tinned pineapple; this was 20€. My friends ordered the prawn noodles which had no flavour or colour, the ‘crispy vegetables’ were like microwaved frozen veg. I wont even comment on the kids meals. The only reason i would give 1 star is for the service as i cant fault the staff. I have had Thai food many times and this is the furthest thing from it. So disappointed and 200€ bill for food that was basically not touched. When leaving a staff member asked was everything okay and just to give feedback nicely i explained about my disappointment and was told that it is a thai restaurant and not Chinese and thats how sweet and sour chicken is made in a Thai restaurant and she had it for a lunch that day and it was lovely. Don't waste your money."

"Collected a lovely Thai meal this evening. First met a lovely gentleman in the Thai Restaurant than a lovely young lady that got me my takeaway. Service was superb , food was delicious . Everything first class."

"OMG! This was awful! If you have special dietary requirements DO NOT GO HERE! Firstly, we booked for 7 people to celebrate our Son's engagement, an occasion to remember? Took ages to get in, the staff lacked any basic training. Then we were seated separately! The service was appalling, we waited so long for our food, some people had come in after us, seated, ordered and eating before we were even asked for our order. The reason for pre booking is that we had 2 vegans, and a Gluten intolerant person. This was pointed out at the time of the booking and at the order. So many questions, we couldn't have made it any clearer. My Son received PORK rolls instead of vegetarian spring rolls, unfortunately only finding out after taking two bites. He felt physically sick! Veganism is not just a diet, it is a way of life. I felt awful for him. He eventually got his spring rolls after we had all eaten and were awaiting the main course. Waiting, and waiting. The family we were with, and had to be separated from, had received their main courses, finished their main courses and were ordered their third drinks (maybe that was the plan?). We eventually got our meals, duck for Wife and myself (very average) and Tofu (VEGAN) with noodles for my Son and his soon to be Wife. During the meal, they both turned pale. The Tofu that they were eating looked suspicious, and appeared to be egg? Our worst fears were confirmed, we just wanted to leave. My Son asked to see the manager, this took 20-minutes! Obviously she apologised for completely ruining our special evening. The couple were offered the meal again, but were absolutely scared to try anything else 'vegan'. They were offered a free drink but we weren't drinking! We couldn't wait to leave, no coffee or dessert, just the bill (another 20-minutes). The rest of the family at the other table seemed to have a good time, shame we didn't. We were there for over 2-hours! The happy couple (well, before we went in to Treacy's!) had a horrific starter, and no meal. THE BILL WAS €250! Well we won't forget that night in a hurry? I've been a regular at Treacy's for the last 20-years, never again."

"Group of 7 adults and three children dined here recently. I can honestly say it was by far the worst meal we have eaten. I had prawns in a watery sauce and had asked for no peppers, it was laced in peppers. My 7 Yr old grandson had sausages and mash . The sausages were burned and the mash was disgusting. It was a very special occasion as a family and it was a total disaster. My husband paid the bill and I didn't want to make a fuss as he was treating us. NEVER AGAIN. I don't think it even deserves a one star...shocking."
